I have played both...soccer, basketball, football, tennis, karate and more...The best sport I will play till I die is soccer...but as a martial artists, I have come to find less stress depending on someone else to help me reach my goals. I was asked if I was given the chance to become a professional soccer play or a professional fighter...asuming the pay is the same, which will I choose? I would choose to be a professional fighter. Success depends only on me...
It all depends on the individual. Some thrive on being part of a team, others are more independent. Having played both I find myself more inclined to individual sports. For me, it has really nothing to do with the level of competitiveness, but more to do with me having a more introverted personality. I like to think people play sports because they compliment certain aspects of their personality.
