To me if a boxer fights in the octagon he will lose and if a mma fighters fights a boxer in a boxing ring he will lose.
Of course, each fighter will win in his specialty. Boxing is more about punches to the head, while MMA is more focused on wrestling and physically putting an opponent in a position where they either can no longer defend themselves or in a hold where they'll break or dislocated something if they don't tap out. A lot of guys have competed in both sports, but the top guys at the top level generally don't have what it takes to crossover and fight the top guys in the other sport, and vice versa.
A female mixed martial artist would put a can of whoop arse on a boxer of equal weight. I'm talking about Cristiane Santos.
I like to watch the ladies rumble. Nothing like a good cat fight.

I believe that the sport is just as popular as boxing, gets an audience just the same, the fights are more tougher than boxing and fights are hard to fix, so why boxers make more?
