Is the Major League Baseball season too long?

With 162 games each season it's very hard to imagine players staying motivated even when their team is well out of the playoffs (mathematically).

Do you think the leagues should shorten the season? Why or why not?

It used to be shorter. And, no I don't think the season is too long.

I don't really care one way or another because I don't play. I watch all season long and when the time comes, if my team isn't in it at playoff time, then I will switch to watching football and my team in that sport.

C'mon, you don't even watch the league series. They're usually good, but still think the season is too long.

It's not the 162-game regular season that is too long for me but rather the extended post-season.  The amount of days and weeks that it takes to play the post-season really drags on.  Now, we add the wildcard teams.  It really stalls the momentum of a daily season.
