Portable Camping Sink - Washing Dishes While Camping In The Woods

Grab the whole family and that giant tent and let's go camping. Don't you love taking some time off and enjoying nature? Well, we all enjoy camping but it's so hard to leave all of those great things at home, like plumbing, television and of course - the kitchen and bathroom sink. That's why many campers have found that their trips are much more enjoyable when they bring along a portable camping sink. But, if you've never purchased one, how do you know what to look for?

What To Look For In A Portable Camping Sink

The first thing that you really need to look for in a portable camping sink is portability. Of course that makes sense - but there are a lot of models that are just plain difficult to move. You want to model that can fold up easily and fit into the back of your car with the rest of your gear. Stay away from large and bulky models that are heavy.

The next thing to consider is the capacity. Since there is usually no plumbing available out in nature, a camping sink has a bowl that holds sitting water. You want to make sure that you purchase a sink with a bowl that is large enough for you to use without having to empty it out over and over again. The best capacity to go for is probably about three to five gallons. Of course, the larger you go, the harder it will be to move your sink.

If you plan to clean fish, be sure to have more then one portable camping sink so as to not cross contaminate with raw fish bacteria.

Also, stay away from portable camping sink models that are built on legs if you are also hiking. Both static and retractable legs are really unnecessary. You can just find a sink that resembles a suitcase and when you use it, you can simply set it on the ground or on a chair or a stump. The extra cost is not worth it.

Well, I hope that you realize how helpful a portable camping sink can be when you and your family or even you and your friends are out in nature.
