5 Step Facial Mask Made With Coconut Oil
Why Use Coconut Oil For the Face?
Coconut oil has numerous benefits and ingredients that are proactive when used topically. The skin can naturally absorb these benefits and a healthy glowing look results from using coconut oils as a mask, cleanser or moisturizer.
Coconut oil has been used to condition hair, as a massage oil, a treatment to delay wrinkles, to help dermatitis and eczema, it has been used to aid in digestion, help protect against heart disease and cancer, help the immune system and aids in weight loss by boosting the metabolism.
It has been known for a long time that eating coconut oil has healthy properties, too! Coconut oil has antimicrobial, antibacterial, antifungal and antioxidant properties. The presence of Lauric Acid in coconut oil is used by the body. The body coverts the Lauric Acid in into monolaurin which helps the body's defenses deal with bacteria and fungus. Essential saturated fats in coconut oil help a skin to retain its moisture. Also, coconut oil is loaded with vitamin E. Vitamin helps the skin to repair itself from damage. Vitamin E helps keep wrinkles at bay, it keeps the skin smooth, it protects the skin from cracking and hence, aging.
Coconut oil also has high stability. That means it does not go rancid quickly. This is ideal when preparing a skin cream, lotion, cleanser or mask since the preparation will remain fresh and stable longer than other natural skin treatments that are made without coconut oil.
Why Researchers Suggest Coconut Oil
The American Contact Dermatitis Society and the Coconut Research Center have compiled evidence on using coconut oil for the skin. The American Contact Dermatitis Society also states that virgin coconut oil has antibacterial and antifungal properties. This makes coconut oil an effective treatment against, acne, dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis and a plethora of other skin ailments.
Because the coconut oils is natural there are no added harsh chemicals to irritate the skin. The skin care treatments listed below will keep your skin smooth, soft, silky, and help reduce age spots, wrinkles and fine lines.
