Beauty Tips on a Budget
We all wish we could afford to go to the spa and get pampered, but in this economy it’s not always feasible. Luckily there are some fantastic, inexpensive home beauty tricks to keep you looking and feeling like you just walked out of a spa. Most everything you’ll need can be found between your bathroom and kitchen cupboards.
Keep Your Smile Bright and Your Lips Kissable
Your smile is one of the first things people notice. Naturally you want to make a great first impression, so here are a few tips to keep your smile bright and your lips kissably soft. There are many toothpaste on the market that have baking soda added to them, but to really polish and whiten your teeth try adding a little baking soda to your tooth brush before adding the toothpaste. I find that real baking soda does a much better job than what is pre-added to toothpaste.
After brushing with the toothpaste baking soda mix you can follow up with hydrogen peroxide. There are two ways you can do this; either by brushing with it or using it like mouthwash. If you choose to brush with it just rinse off your tooth brush, pour a little peroxide into a Dixie cup, dip your tooth brush into it, then brush over your teeth like you normally would. If you decide to use it like mouthwash; use about half as much hydrogen peroxide as you would normally use mouthwash, swish it around, and gargle like you normally would with mouthwash. No matter which way you decide to use the hydrogen peroxide, it is very important to make sure not to swallow any peroxide and rinse your mouth well afterward.
Keeping your lips kissably smooth is quick and easy. Once or twice a week mix about a teaspoon of sugar with Vaseline. Massage the mixture onto both your top and bottom lip for 30 to 45 second. Gently wipe the mixture off with luke warm water, and finish up by applying a hydrating lip balm. And your lips will be smooth and ready to be kissed. Keep your lips smooth between treatments by applying a hydrating lip balm several times a day.
Soft Glowing Skin
Soft, smooth, sexy glowing skin is a must. While the smile is the first thing that most people notice, one of the next things they’re going to notice is your skin. Especially if you don't take care of it, bad skin ages you and keep make you look unhealthy. Fabulous skin can be achieved by making a few minor tweaks to your daily and weekly routine. First and most important drink water and lots of it; at least 8 to 10 glasses which translates to 3 or 4 bottles a day. 2/3 of the body is made up of water, and some studies show that up to 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. Amongst other things dehydration can cause dry, dull looking skin full of toxins and impurities. Which not only makes you look older, but also makes you look unhealthy and tired. With so many negative effects to your skin and overall appearance, why would you wanted to do something so simple as drinking a few bottles of water a day. By drinking more than eight glasses of water daily you fight dehydration; which replenishes skin tissue, moisturizes skin, and increases elasticity. Also by drinking water you flush toxins and impurities from your body; which leads to bright clearer eyes (the windows to the soul), and a more radiant complexion.
Drinking water is great for your body, and does great things for replenishing and clarifying your skin. To get that extra glow you have to exfoliate, exfoliate, and exfoliate. A cheap and easy way to exfoliate is by mixing 1 to 2 tablespoons of Epson salt with your usual body wash two or three times a week. After exfoliating while your skin is still damp try using a baby oil gel to lock in moisture to your newly exfoliated skin. Drinking plenty of water combats internal dehydration, but it’s still really important to combat external dehydration with moisturizing products.
Now for Smooth,Touchable Legs and Feet
Having smooth touchable legs is a must for all seasons, not just summer. This is one of the quickest, easiest tips of all. Shave your legs with a cheap conditioner; I prefer brands like Suave or V05 since there usually super cheap, under $2 at places like Wal-Mart and Target. Your legs are moisturized while you're shaving and then are smooth and silky for days to come.
If you can even believe it soft smooth feet can be achieved for even less than smooth legs. All you need is Vaseline (you can get a small travel size jar for about $1) and an old pair of socks. After you get out of the shower or bath slather your feet with Vaseline and put on your old socks. It’s easiest if you do this at night so you can sleep in the socks and wake up with smooth feet. If you’re one of those people who hate to sleep in socks then you can just put on the Vaseline and socks while your lounging around the house. Either way your feet will thank you.

And Finally for the Hair
Having gorgeous, healthy, silky hair is an absolute must. But who can afford to go to the salon every week. An easy alternatives is giving yourself a weekly hot oil treatment. You can create an affordable hot oil treatment by dampening your hair before you get in the shower, rubbing in 1-3 tablespoons of olive oil (depending on length), and covering with a shower cap. Leave the shower cap on while in the shower allowing the oil to heat up. Finally before getting out of shower rinse hair to get rid of excess oil, you may need to wash it out with a small amount of shampoo.

You can look amazing head to toe, with out going to the salon or spa; by brushing your teeth with baking soda and hydrogen peroxide, exfoliating your lips, drinking plenty of water, exfoliating your skin a few times a week, shaving with conditioner, covering your feet in Vaseline, and giving yourself an at home hot oil treatment.
