Black high heels are the one shoe that every woman needs in her wardrobe. They simply go with everything. The one perfect black pump can be worn with a pencil skirt, a pair of stylish skinny jeans or a nice elegant dress. They can be worn to a party, on date night with the hubby or a shopping trip to the mall. I can think of nothing more elegant and sexy and that has the versatility as a black high heel shoe.

These days the sky high stiletto is the fashionable trend. You would be hard pressed to find a better looking shoe than one with a 4-6" heel. My favorite heel is a black classic 4 inch pump. They can be seen as pointy toe, round toe, ankle strap and various thickness of stiletto. I prefer a pencil thin stiletto, closed toe and pointy toe. All these characters are typical of a classic shoe that has been worn by fashionable women since the 30s and 40s. The heel height is probably a little taller these days but the shoe has not changed that much.

The platform pump is always an extremely popular style. These towering shoes have a platform that makes the it more comfortable while increasing the height. A 6-inch heel might seem tall but if there is a 2-inch platform it is the equivalent of a 4-inch heel. The platform can be either obvious or hidden. I prefer a hidden platform. I do not care for the look of an obvious platform or even seem around the bottom of the shoe. Many fashionable heels actually look like a block has been tacked onto the front of the shoe which I find looks rather odd.

There are many designs available in stylish black high heels. The most common is a standard patent leather. The best feels very soft and comfortable. These shoes have leather that is not hard and does not bite into the foot when worn. Satin is typically found in evening shoes and looks elegant when worn with a pretty dress or gown. A personal favorite is suede. It can be worn most anytime and anywhere while providing a sophisticated and sexy look with most any outfit.

There are numerous styles available in fashionable black high heels. Peep-toe is popular and is typically seen during warm weather. It provides more comfort than a standard pointy-toe shoe. The toes have plenty of room to move in the shoe. A slingback pump is an elegant design that looks best with a pencil skirt or dress. Strappy designs are fun to wear and provide a good deal of visual flair.

High heels can be very expensive. If you are a gal with modest means but still wants to splurge on a fabulous shoe then the black high heel is a perfect choice. Out of all the various colors, designs and styles one could argue that you would get the most out of black pumps. Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo, Stuart Weitzman create beautiful shoes that are terribly expensive. Most women would be delighted to own a pair of these designer shoes. A single pair of black high heels would go with anything and give a woman more opportunity to wear them.

The perfect shoe for me would be a striking 4-inch black suede pump with a peep-toe. You can wear it with a pencil skirt to work and not miss a beat if you wanted to change into a pair of skinny jeans for a casual after work drink at a local bar. They can be worn with slacks and even with a evening dress. Black goes with everything and these sky high heels looks great with whatever you choose to wear.

Celebrities in Black High Heels

The black high heel shoe is obviously a staple in every celebrity's shoe closet. They will go with whatever fashion choice they make to parade down the red carpet promoting the latest event. Some actresses like Sofia Vergara and Kate Beckinsale prefer their heels to be extremely high. They enjoy their platforms. Others like Nicole Kidman who are already tall typically wear a heel without the platform.
