Celebrity Fashions | Sexy Overalls | Wear Them, Wear Them Now!

Updated on June 1, 2009

Overalls. The one piece, cover all for all your clothing needs. The perfect melding of form and function, the pinnacle of functional clothing design. Overalls are where it is at. (If you're sufficiently into fashion, you won't question what 'it' is, or where 'at' might actually be.)

Some people might say that overalls are uncouth, or perhaps innapropriate attire for a formal occasion. They'd be wrong on both counts, and I have pictorial proof to support my argument. All they have are a wardrobe of sad, two pieced clothing which is so last millenium I think I might just cry tears of fashion induced nostalgia.

Scarlett Johanson knows all about the glamorous life. She's dated Justin Timberlake, appeared on more red carpets that you've had hot dinners and earns more per movie than most of us will earn in a lifetime, and here she is, stepping out in a pair of glamorous shiny metallic grey overalls. If you're not convinced by the example a celebrity sets, then I fear you never will be. And the bad news doesn't stop there, this picture was taken in 2006. If you haven't invested in at least one pair of overalls by now, you're at least three years behind the trend.

Overalls aren't just for women, mind, men can wear them with impunity. Check out the shining example set by Kid Rock, rocking out here in a pair of overalls, sans shirt. He's really pushing the boundaries with this look, but don't you be afraid to follow in his footsteps. This is the man who snagged Pamela Anderson for at least five minutes. Imagine what you could do in a pair of similar overalls.

So why don't you see more people wearing overalls on the street? They just haven't become hip to this particular trend, that's all. Designers haven't stopped making overalls, in fact, the range of fabrics and styles of overalls has never been bigger. That's right ladies and gentlemen, there has never been a better time, in the entire history of the world, to buy and wear a pair of overalls.

Wear them to the beach, to a friend's house, to a cocktail party. Make sure that you have a causal pair of overalls, for kicking around the house, and a more formal pair of overalls, for those occasions where you really want to impress. Just imagine the look on your boss's face when you show up to make your presentation to the board of directors in a shiny shiny pair of overalls. There's a promotion in there somewhere, I bet.
