While I am not inclined to have any voluntary surgical procedures done myself, I did visit a dentist while on vacation there and had my teeth laser whitened. The dental office was modern, clean and as well equipped as any US facility. While here in the United States laser teeth whitening runs over a thousand dollars I paid $150 dollars . It was simple and painless, best of all I was very happy with the results and paid a fraction of the cost it would have cost here.

A few friends needing extensive dental work have also traveled to Costa Rica . I first heard of this from an older gentleman friend that had been quoted $20,000 US dollars to have extensive dental work done here a few years ago. He told me about he would travel to Costa Rica , spend a week there basking in the sun between dental appointments.. When you are talking of saving thousands of dollars it becomes a no brainer. His total cost with airfare and lodging and all the dental work he needed, not at this particular place, was under $4500 total even when you consider he went back a second time for follow up. His was not an elective procedure, he desperately needed the work done. Dentists here are willing to finance, but he still would have had to come up with the down payment. Whatever the case may be, if you happen to be suffering from tooth decay, need crowns, root canals, bridge work, fillings, or just for esthetics, looking to improve your smile with veneers or tooth whitening, you can get a quote through this place. Since I originally went there on vacation and had not scheduled for anything more, the Inn’s front desk handled the appointment for me, took me there, and picked me up to bring me back to the hotel.

As I write this hub another friend with similar dental problems is staying at this Inn. He called yesterday to thank me and my husband for the referral. In his words , it was so tranquil he was about to throw himself down the mountain. They took advantage of the sights and booked a tour to an active volcano in between root canals.

I had the pleasure of meeting a few ladies while staying there too. One was an American correction officer from Michigan and was having her first facelift. The other a German lady having multiple surgeries done. She had a tummy tuck, a facelift and breast implants. I saw her again after her surgeries all bandaged and looking kind of scary and rough but she was doing remarkably well. She admitted being addicted to plastic surgery and described it as the best gift she could give herself. I don’t know about all that, I can think of better gifts to give myself, but I always say - to each their own.
