Creed Green Irish Tweed

Updated on May 12, 2011

Creed Green Irish Tweed

Creed Green Irish Tweed is a men’s cologne that was launched in 1985. The company has been making popular scents since the 1700’s – even for royalty. Dozens of fragrances have been released since the start of the producer. Since the launch of the Green Irish Tweed cologne, it has become a very popular men’s fragrance. In fact, celebrities such as Richard Gere, Robert Redford and others rave about the product. What makes this scent so popular? Read on for an in-depth review.

Creed Green Irish Tweed Scent Notes

Creed’s Green Irish Tweed consists of top notes of lemon and verbena. After the cologne lingers for an hour or so then the middle notes work their way through with the scents from Irish and violet leaves. The final notes, also known as base notes that top off the scent are ambergris and Mysore sandalwood. What is a similar scent that can be compared to Creed Green Irish Tweed? The answer is Davidoff’s Cool Water – both give off that “clean-aqua-fresh like aroma.” What are the fragrance differences between the two colognes? Green Irish Tweed has a long and lasting silage. The men’s fragrance lasts hours with roughly the same strength as when it was first applied while the latter’s strength dissipates quickly after applied within an hour or two. Green Irish Tweed also doesn’t give off that cheapo alcohol bite and is much richer in depth of scent

Packaging

Creed Green Irish Tweed generally comes in a creamy or off-white colored box. The famous gold logo is centered directly on the center of the box in a gold label with the crown logo directly above the cologne title and producer. The crown logo may either be printed into the white coloring of the box or may feature a gold metallic crown.

The bottle of Green Irish Tweed is generally black in coloring; however, it may also be clear if it is a tester that is available for purchase. The bottle of the cologne is much similar to other Creed colognes. It features the traditional flask or boxy like appearance with a flared out cap. The most common men’s cologne bottle sizes for this scent are 1.0, 2.5 and 4.0 fluid ounces. Body wash and other complimentary layering products are also available for this popular men’s cologne.

Pricing

Pricing for Creed Green Irish Tweed retail is generally much higher in department stores such as Nieman Marcus and other fine outlets. Expect to pay around $225 to $250 for a 4.0 ounce bottle. Online shoppers will pay around $125 to $180 via online; thus, a substantial price difference.

Wear

Creed Green Irish Tweed is recommended for men of all ages; however, this scent is much more preferred for men between the ages of 18 to 40. The men’s cologne can also be worn for day and night time use.
