Homemade Cleansers for normal skin
Step one of all skin care regimes is to start with a good cleanser, this should be done both morning and night for the best results, it helps to not only clean out the dirt of the day at night but also helps remove the toxins that our bodies release while we sleep.

Simple yogurt cleanser
½ cup of plain of yogurt
1 tablespoon of sunflower oil
1 ½ teaspoons of lemon juice
Mix the ingredients together thoroughly and place in airtight container and store in the fridge
Apply a teaspoon amount to your moist face and massage in an upward circular motion avoiding the delicate eye area before rinsing thoroughly with warm water. For best results use both morning and night
1 tablespoon of olive oil
3 tablespoons of coconut oil
1 tablespoon of glycerine
2 teaspoons of water
Using a double boiler, combine and melt the ingredients together
When all the ingredients have melted remove from heat, and whisk vigorously for about 5 minutes
Allow to cool before storing in a glass container with an airtight seal
Apply to moist skin in gentle upward circular motions, avoiding the eye area before rinsing thoroughly with warm water, for best results use both morning and night
Note- can be kept for up to a week
½ cup of oatmeal
Mix the oatmeal with enough yogurts to make a paste,
Apply to a moist face in gentle circular motions avoiding the sensitive eye area before rinsing thoroughly with warm water; use both day and night for best results
2 tablespoons of milk
2 tablespoons of lemon juice
1 ripe tomato
Combine the ingredients in a blender or food processor and combine until it forms a smooth paste
Apply to a moist face in smooth circular upward motions avoiding the delicate eye area and rinse well with warm water
Note- lime and orange juice can be used instead of lemon juice, and this recipe can be stored for a few days in the fridge or in the freezer for a month
1 tablespoon of olive oil
2 tablespoons of brown sugar
Using a small bowl mix the olive oil into the brown sugar to form a thick paste.
Apply to moist skin with soft circular motions be careful to avoid the sensitive eye area before rinsing well with warm water
Note- this cleanser may feel a bit greasy at first but it will leave your skin silky smooth when finished
Homemade masks and scrubs for normal skin

2 cups of brown sugar
2-5 tablespoons of milk
Mix ingredients in a small bowl until forms a paste

Milk and honey face mask
1 egg white
1 tablespoon of milk
1 teaspoon of honey
Whisk the egg until it starts too thick and add the milk and honey mixing well
Apply to face and leave for 20 minutes before washing off with a warm cloth
A wonderful mask for softening your skin
1 medium size peach
Peel and puree the peach
Mix the pureed peach with enough apple vinegar to form a paste
Apply to a moist face and leave for 20 minutes before washing off with warm water
Great for firming and revitalizing the skin
1 tablespoon of ground oats (not instant)
1 teaspoon of lemon juice
2 teaspoons of plain yogurt
Combine all the ingredients in a small bowl till well mixed
Apply to face with fingertips and massage into the skin in upward circular motions before rinsing well. Can also double as mask by leaving for 5 -10 minutes before scrubbing as above
A great scrub for hydrating, smoothing and toning
½ cup of Almond oil
2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
1 teaspoon of nutmeg
1 tablespoon of ground oatmeal
½ cup of white sugar
½ cup of brown sugar
Combine all the ingredients together in a bowl and mix well.
Store in an airtight jar
Apply to a moist face, in circular upward motions massaging into the skin, leave for a few minutes and rinse thoroughly with warm water
A great mask that exfoliates as wells as moisturizers
Homemade toners for normal skin
The toner is an important to step to skin care, helping to cleanse, balance and hydrate the skin. Aloe Vera toner for normal skin
2 tablespoons of Aloe Vera
1 tablespoon of lime juice
Mix the two ingredients until you have a smooth paste
Apply to a moist face using upward circular motions, leave for a few minutes before rinsing well with warm water
Note- lemon juice can be used instead of lime
Facial toner for normal skin
1 egg white
1 teaspoon of lemon juice
1 teaspoon of organic honey
Whisk the egg white until it starts to thicken up
Add the lemon juice and honey and continue to whisk for a minute
Apply to a moist face in circular upward motions avoiding the delicate eye area and leave for ten minutes before rinsing thoroughly with warm water
Lemon toner for normal skin
½ cup of lemon juice
1 cup of distilled water
2/3 cups of witch hazel
Combine ingredients together in a sterilized container and shake well
Apply to face with a cotton ball in and upwards motion before rinsing well with warm water
Tea tree oil toner for normal skin
¼ cup of distilled water
A few drops of tea tree oil
Mix the tea tree oil together with the distilled water and store in an air tight sterilized container.
Shake well before applying with a cotton ball to a moist face in circular upward motions , rinse lightly with warm water
Note- is very good in helping control blemishes (pimples)
Homemade Moisturizers for normal skin
Moisturizer is the last step in the skincare steps but it is one of the most important. 3 tablespoons of wheat germ oil
3 tablespoons of honey
2 tablespoons of glycerine
2 tablespoons of rosewater
Combine all ingredients in a bowl and whisk until thoroughly combined.
Apply gently to the face in circular upward motions, being careful to avoid the delicate eye area, leave on overnight or for at least 10 minutes before rinsing well
Can be stored in air tight bottle, and makes enough for one month’s use.
Lime moisturizer for normal skin
1 fresh lime (juice)
¼ cup of boiled whole milk
2 tablespoons of extra virgin oil
Mix the ingredients together and store in a sterilized glass jar
Apply to face in gentle circular upward motions, leave for at least 10 minutes before rinsing well or leave on as an overnight moisturizer
Note- will store for a few days in the fridge and gives the skin a great natural glow
2 tablespoons of mashed strawberries
1 tablespoon of coconut oil
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
3-5 drops of vitamin E oil if available
Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well
Apply to the face in circular upward motions and leave on for 10 minutes before washing off.
Banana Moisturizer for normal skin
2 tablespoons of sour cream
1 tablespoon of honey
Mash the banana in a bowl and add the sour cream and honey, mix well
Apply the paste to a moist face in circular upward motions avoiding the delicate eye area
Leave for 15 minutes before washing off with warm water
Note the amount of banana need should equal ½ of the paste that you are making, with the other two ingredients making up the other ½
