How to Be Subtly Beautiful

Is subtle beauty your style?

There are different kinds of beauty in this world and that is part of what makes it so fascinating. Some people wear loud clothes and a lot of makeup. Yes, they are beautiful. But they aren't the only ones! Being subtle can be beautiful, too.

What does it mean to be subtle? I'll share what I think it means. I would love to hear your opinions in the comments.

To me, being subtle is about being natural. The makeup is minimal. The clothing style is simple. The overall affect, however, is not boring. It's very pretty. Being subtle and natural allows you to be yourself and that is truly beautiful.

Subtle Beauty Quick Tips - Get Started Now

I thought I would share with you some quick tips on how to be a subtle beauty. For me, natural is the way to go!

  • Simple makeup. Yes, you can wear makeup but I would keep it simple. Foundation or powder, mascara, lip gloss or a light-colored lipstick. This is the way to go!
  • Uncomplicated hair. Subtle beauty is all about not being complicated. Make sure that your hair doesn't look high maintenance! Put it up in a pretty ponytail or simple bun. Let it air dry long and natural. This is subtle and beautiful.
  • Simple, stylish clothes. Wearing simple, stylish clothes is part of being a subtle beauty. An even bigger bonus is if you choose clothes that are completely you!

How to Be Subtle and Natural

I tend to think of subtle beauty as being the same thing as a natural beauty. Being natural IS beautiful because it lets your true personality shine through!

Subtle Can Still Take Time!

You know what I have learned? Being subtle isn't necessarily a time saver! I had very natural makeup on my face for my sister's wedding and still took about thirty minutes to put on. All the steps are there, the makeup is just applied in a subtle and natural way.

It takes time to take care of ourselves. The goal is to just do enough to look put together and that you care about your appearance. This is the key to looking as beautiful as possible.

Be Comfortable in Your Own Skin

The best tip I can give you about being a subtle beauty is to be comfortable in your own skin. If you like what you see in the mirror, it will be easier to be yourself. Being yourself is definitely beautiful!

How do you get comfortable with yourself if you aren't there yet? Well, it helps to understand that no one is perfect. Don't compare yourself to others. Chances are, the people whom you think are perfect may have some hangups of their own about themselves. It isn't worth dwelling on!

Instead, look in the mirror and make a list of ten things that you like about yourself. Take as long as you need but make sure you do come up with ten things. When you feel like you need a boost, look at this list. Look at it every morning and night. Post it somewhere obvious so you can read it whenever you want.

This will make you confident and confidence IS beautiful!
