The Benefits of Kids Luggage

The benefits of using childrens luggage are plentiful. Here are some of the top reasons that you should consider giving the child in your life their own special luggage.

  • For some kids, packing for a trip can be a total bore. They’ll be more excited to pack their own suitcase.
  • Kids luggage sets typically are a lot easier to carry and handle for smaller children. They’re more light-weight and have smaller handles for little hands.
  • Your child will enjoy being responsible for his or her very own piece of luggage. I’ve seen many children proudly role their luggage through airports. It’s absolutely adorable and you can tell that they’re very proud to be taking care of their own luggage, just like mom and dad!
  • If your child has to travel frequently between homes or locations, then their own piece of luggage in their favorite color or character design is a way to give them an item that will comfort them through familiarity no matter where they are.
  • Wondering where you’ll keep the luggage set when not in use? Kids luggage sets also make great storage containers for toys in play rooms. They make even more fabulous dress-up containers to store your little girl’s dress-up clothes in; be creative!

Some kids enjoy traveling, some dislike it and some get very nervous about it. Kids luggage sets are a great way to ensure that your child will enjoy and even look forward to traveling. Whether you’re looking for a luggage set for a child that goes back and forth between parent’s homes or looking for a kids luggage set for a road-trip or flight, then there are many choices available.

This article will cover the benefits of using special luggage for your kids.

You’ll also learn how to select the perfect kid’s luggage and discover the different character kid luggage sets available (Scooby Doo & Dora the Explorer, just to name a few) as well as the different types such as rolling kids luggage, carry-on luggage, etc.)

Kids Luggage for Girls

There is tons of adorable luggage for girls. One very cute piece is from a kid’s luggage line called “Going to Grandmas”. Definitely worthwhile to check out if your little girl frequently takes trips to Grammy’s house!

Other options for girls include Wildkin’s Pink Horses luggage (matching sleeping bag sold separately) and Double Dutch’s ‘Hippie Chick’ pink and purple up-right rolling luggage for girls of all ages. Both Wildkin's Pink Horses luggage and Double Dutch's luggage pieces have additional pieces sold separately if you need to create a larger luggage set for big trips.

Kids Luggage for Boys

While it’s definitely easier to find a wider selection of luggage for girls, you can still find some great sets and pieces for your boy to use in his travels.

Some popular selections for boys include solid color luggage sets and licensed character travel bags. Just pick his favorite color or character, and you’re good to go!

Almost every popular children’s character is available, whether in form of a traditional luggage bag or even a rolling backpack. A really popular idea for families traveling to Disney, is to get their child his or her favorite Disney character luggage!

Dora’s most cherished item is a backpack , so it’s not shocking that there are many Dora the Explorer backpacks and luggage pieces for kids. Your little girl will feel just like Dora, once she has her very own Dora the Explorer backpack to assist her in her travels to grandma’s house, the classroom or for a sleep-over.

Scooby Doo is a very popular character for both boys and girls luggage pieces right now. If you have two younger children, then you might want to consider getting them each a matching Scooby Doo backpack, specific to their gender. Girl’s Scooby Doo backpacks usually have flowers on them and Boy’s Scooby Doo backpacks sometimes have ghosts!

We recently travelled across country to CA and I had purchased small princess rolling suitcases for my daughters to put a pillow, snacks and things to do on the airplane in them. They loved having their own suitcase and wanted to push/pull them everywhere. It made the trip easier because they had fun and it took some weight off of my shoulders - literally!

Lily - I think they're absolutely adorable not to mention really convenient for parents. I love it when I see kids traveling with their own little rolling backpacks - so cute! They really are great to store pillows, snacks and toys in for a flight. Thanks for stopping by! :)

How incredibly cute! Now, why don't they have some of these luggage sets for "big kids."

that last one is particularly eye-grabbing.
