20+ Photos of the Latest Saree Blouse Designs

Looking for the Latest Saree Blouse Designs?

While the saree is a timelessly beautiful piece of clothing, the blouse designs continuously change throughout the years, even months at a time sometimes. This article is for all the ladies who like to keep an updated wardrobe when it comes to their sari blouses.

First things first, understanding and accepting your own body type is essential in choosing the right type of saree blouse. A sexy halter blouse design may look great on a 6-foot-tall model, but will the same design suit your 5-foot frame? Posture is also key. I've seen girls with the bodies of supermodels wear the most beautiful sarees but with horrible postures to short girls with wide hips pull off cotton sarees with such amazing posture that she'd turn any head on the street.

In this article, we'll not only look at some of the latest blouse designs to go with various types of sarees, but also discuss some fashion faux pas that you'll want to avoid committing. Enjoy!

How to Make the Best Out of Your Saree

Here are also some additional photos and tips on how to make the best out of your saree and to make the most flattering outfit for your frame:

1. Enhance your best features. Ladies, you should always maximize on the best parts of your body. Some of you have great shoulders and a back side, but maybe have slightly chubby arms. In that case, go for a three-quarter blouse sleeve instead of a sleeveless one, and show off that gorgeous back with a deep back neck.

The stringed blouse is not flattering her body at all. It is digging into her flesh and giving a very untidy look. If you are a bit on the bulky side on the back, avoid multiple strings and instead go for a deep neck with a single string at the nape.

2. Keep it simple. Sometimes, the excess details may create an overall unappealing look. To keep it classy, you don't want too much going on with your blouse so that it distracts people from admiring you. Rather than drawing attention to simply your blouse because of how loud or overly-detailed it looks, focus on a more simple look. For examples of what an overly complicated blouse looks like, see the photographs below.

The sleeves of the blouse are too loose for it to look nice. The blouse is is also hugging her torso in a way that it doesn't look comfortable or sexy.

3. Do not wear a front-opening blouse. Whether it be hooks, buttons, or zipper, just avoid a front opening blouse. If you have any see-through material on your saree, it is best not to give a front opening on any blouse, regardless of your weight. A saree should be a statement of class and sophistication, it should not have anything in it to distract the viewer from the person wearing it and it must not be vulgar or sloppy. A beautiful chiffon saree with a blouse that is untidy is a total no-no for me. It may draw inappropriate and unnecessary attention to your front hooks rather than your beautiful face—you don't want that kind of attention. Keep it classy.

The blouse has a front opening, which makes her over all appearance look clumsy. Avoid front openings on your saree blouse and look stylish!

4. Avoid back opening of blouse if your blouse has designs. If you have embroidery, zardozi work, or any type of embellishments at the back, avoid using see-through material or creating any type of opening. Overall, it looks a bit too cluttered and messy. See below for some examples.

The opening at the back of the blouse has ruined the blouse design completely!

5. If you want to create any openings, try the right-hand side of the blouse. You must be wondering: if you can't use hooks or buttons at the front or the back, where can you use them? The best place to keep the opening of the blouse is the right hand side of your blouse. A zipper which starts from the helm of the right side of your blouse and goes all the way up to your underarm. It’s the most hidden place to keep an opening for a clean and neat looking saree blouse.

Hello Ravina,

Thanks for stopping by. You can easily make similar saree blouse by taking a picture and buying similar material and taking it to a good tailor and also a good embroidery shop where they can imitate such designs. I have my own personal tailor as well as karchupi, zardozi worker who can beautifully replicate blouse designs for me.

Hi Sakshi,

Thanks for stopping by at my hub on Latest Saree Blouse Designs. I would be more than glad to help you our decide on your saree blouse for tissue saree.

It would have been more helpful if you could tell me the type of embroidery or design on your saree (if any)

As you have already read the article above which conveyed to your that with transparent sarees you must avoid wearing blouse with a front opening. So go for a blouse with either a side hook or zipper or back hooks or buttons (avoid using zipper at the back of your saree blouse).

You can go for the curtained back blouse desing (see this link – first picture http://k-kiss.hubpages.com/hub/Saree-Blouse-Design... AS long as you get the blouse sewn nice and snug it will not crease and will look beautiful with your tissue blouse, provided that your blouse material is also tissue or some other semi transparent material. Instead of going for a boat neck you can go for a high band neck (like a sherwani collar). With this blouse you can give a sweetheart neckline at the front (made with the lining material – it’s basically a heart shaped lining).

Alternatively, you can have a simple blouse with 4 inches of cupped sleeve with a round deep neck of 12inches (but this varies depending on your height and shoulder width). Have a matching round neck in the front. If you want you can keep the sleeves without lining material.

Nowadays full sleeve is “IN”. You can keep the full sleeve semi transparent by not attaching the lining material.

Hope that helped you. You can ask further questions. Do share on Facebook, Google etc.

Thanks

K Kiss

Thanks for your help.. the saree i was talking about is printed, vertical multicolour stripes with black base. And I am short and really slim! that's why I am a bit nervous in donning the saree. :)

Thank you Reena for the complement on my hub on saree blouse designs.

You are welcome Sakshi. Don't be nervous about wearing saree because of your height. Just be confident and pin the saree well and you will rock!

Hi! Would you also help me out? I got a Baby pink with silver embellishment full net saree from a friend. I'm very grateful, but it came without a top. What pre-made tops would you recommend for it? If you can help me out I'd be forever grateful, I can email a picture of it or post it. I'm wearing the saree to a summer indian wedding.

Hi MsLady,

You can post the picture on my facebook fan page "K Kiss".

Since you will be attending a summer Indian wedding, you can wear either a silver shimmery blouse or matching pink top. It would look better if you could make the sleeves silver and body pink or vise-versa. I will be able to help you further if I can see a picture.

Is it possible to use side zip in 3/4 hands also

Dear Lovely,

Yes it is possible to use side zip on saree blouse with 3/4 quarter sleeves. Remember to put the zip on the right hand side of the blouse so that when the pallu is draped it covers the zipper. Also ask the tailor to put a hook at the end of the zipper for extra measure.
