Luxury Bath Salts

Himalayan Pink Salt

Bath salts have been used for centuries to detoxify the body and revive tired muscles.

Transform your next bathing experience by crafting your own spa quality bath salts.

Cheap and effective Epsom salts can be found in most drugstores for around a buck. This salt is power packed with magnesium and sulfates which detoxify skin cells, while relaxing away muscle fatigue.

Himalayan Pink Salt is hand harvested from ancient sea beds in the foothills of the Himalayan mountain region. This salt derives it’s lovely color from the more than 84 unique minerals and trace elements it contains.

What you will need: a large bowl, a sterile utensil, a large, clean glass jar for the finished salts.

Materials needs:

2 tablespoons of a non-greasy oil such as grape seed oil (available at most large grocery stores),

2 cup Epsom salts

1 cup Himalayan Pink Salt or course sea salt (in the gourmet foods section)

20-30 drops essential oil

Essential oil blend suggestions:

Soothing(1 part lavender, 1 part eucalyptus, 1 part juniper), energizing (1 part spearmint 2 parts sweet orange), sensual (1 part sandalwood 2 parts jasmine)

Essential oils can be purchased at your local health food store’s essential oils section or online through Mountain Rose Herbs, New Directions Aromatics, White Lotus Aromatics, Camden Grey Essential Oils and similar websites.

Blend these ingredients together, package and use ½ cup to 1 cup per bath.
