The spelling will be checked by the computer software, I’m sure. It is not included, yet, in the dictionary, but this title is really happening. The contestants of this unique beauty contest are not beautiful girls throughout the world, but little cutie-cutie dolls, especially Barbie dolls. Miss Universe plus Barbie equals Miss UniBarse!
It started with a fabulous idea from Jorge Arbelaez, a Colombian in 2000 and started online in 2005. Many doll collectors (especially Barbie dolls) around the world participated, including the Philippines.
Doll owners and collectors are so overwhelmed by this contest because once you have already dressed and photographed your dolls by going online, you will still send your set of dolls to the USA for the final judging.
Aside from the Miss UniBarse grand title, there are also special awards to be given to selected dolls, like Best in swimsuit, best in long gown, Ms. Photogenic and the like. Other titles are: Miss World, Miss Earth, Miss International and other huge beauty pageant that many beautiful ladies are aiming to win.
Oh, beautiful dolls!
It starts with dressing your dolls. One set of mini-gowns, mini-dresses, mini-swimsuits and accessories, such as earrings, necklaces, chokers and shoes are also costly. You will also choose a good place for doll photo shoots. Imagine, you’ll have to go to the beach for the back draft when shooting for swimsuit category
Although there are no huge amount of money involved for the prizes, still, the awards received by your pampered dolls are well accepted by the owners. The satisfaction it gave to them will never be equaled by money, alone. It’s really an addicting hobby in a positive note.
Who cares to join the contest?
Doll collectors around the world are going gaga over this unique beauty pageant. Aside from exposing their doll collection in the virtual community, they will also have a chance to design dresses and gowns to suit in the contest their doll will be categorized. You will surely devote your time pampering your set of dolls in every schedule of the contest online.
The uniqueness or maybe queerness of the contest caught my attention when it was featured in one of television magazine program. My niece automatically told me about it because I was busy doing another hub in the living room. So, jotting down the raw details, I eagerly search for the site of this-so called Miss UniBarse doll beauty contest.
There are huge differences between the human beauty pageant contestants and their doll counterparts. Their owner/manager will never hear them whine, complaint, argue or cry. There will be only silence while you are doing a hairdo, dressing them up or putting a new doll paint to their bodies.
When interviewed, doll collectors here in the Philippines who actively participate in the contest say that it is really a fulfillment seeing their dolls receiving different accolades from all over the world.
And take note: Every year, there will be a host country that will give the awards to all selected dolls during the judging period.
Check out for the man who made this bold move to appreciate the beauty of his doll collection...
