New York Yankees Tattoos

New York Yankee Tattoos

The New York Yankees are one of the more storied sport franchises in the world, and, depending on who you are talking to and where they live, are among the favorites of those wanting to tattoo a sports logo or players on their bodies.

One obvious advantage the Yankees have is being in New York itself, which with its history and ambience, add to the popularity of the legendary baseball team.

Together they generate some interesting tattoo designs, both from the recent and distant past, as memories as recent as the 9-11 tragedy are included with the Yankees, as well as past history like the players, but also the celebrity, as in the case of Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe.

So when you think of the New York Yankees, you're thinking of something beyond a baseball or sports team, but something that represents over a century of American life, with all its positives and negatives.

Oh yeah. Some Boston baseball fans are still fuming over the Red Sox trading Babe Ruth to their hated rivals, and that was incredibly more for his pitching abilities than hitting at the time.

Below are a few examples of how New York Yankee fans celebrate their baseball team and city through the combination of the team logo and the New York Skyline. Since these don't appear to be memorial tattoos, as some are, you can tell when those getting inked did it, as measured before 9-11, because of the buildings included in the design.

My favorite of these four below is the ripped skin one, where you see the Yankee logo and pinstripes beneath skin. Great and unique look.

New York Yankee Tattoos of Logo

One thing to consider with the Yankee tattoos, is some people may actually be using the logo as a representation of the city alone, rather than the Yankees by extension, as the probability of the tattoo below shows. I could be wrong though. Maybe someone living in New York could tell us what the design means.

New York Yankees Waterless Temporary Tattoos

This is a good looking tattoo. The red touch to the stitching looks great, and the background of the bats adds a nice touch.

New York Yankee Baseball Tattoo

These tattoos below are fantastic, and represent the marriage not only of DiMaggio and Monroe, but of baseball and Hollywood. It worked out at the time for both industries.

Joe Dimaggio and Marilyn Monroe Tattoo

If you're not a baseball or New York Yankee fan, you may not appreciate the history below, but they're representative of about a century of history.

You may recognize Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Thurman Munson (killed in a plane crash), Joe DiMaggio, and many others.

Yankee Tattoo Portraits from History

Below is an even wider variety of Yankee portraits, from just about every era of Yankee history. Talk about a Yankee fan. Great tattoo.

More Yankee Tattoo Portraits

Even though there isn't a lot of variety concerning baseball, as it's usually limited to portraits, logos, and the city the team represents. Great Americana to see the Yankees.

The tattoo on the chest is the Yankee Stadium facade. It's a straight Yankees fan tattoo.
