Power Balance Band - What Is It For?
An increasing number of celebrities and top sports people have been spotted wearing a silicone wristband, known as a power balance band, but what is it for and is it any good?
Power Balance Band distributors have had to pull some of their advertising, after being hauled up for using phrases claiming the power balance bands would "improve balance, strength and flexibility". The slogan "Performance Technology" was also criticised as being misleading.
In fact, in a shock confession Power Balance Band distributors admitted to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission that there is no credible scientific basis for the claims.
