Pregnant belly essentials including support belts at motherhood maternity
As your belly grows during pregnancy, here are my top recommendations of items to help you. These are the items that I know to be very helpful to me and I hope they will be to you too.
1. The first is the Bella Band. This is a band that allows you to continue wearing your regular pant size while unbuttoned or unzipped. Placing the Bella Band over the waist of the pants will extend the sizing and keep the pants from falling down.
The Bella Band is terrific and it is available at bellablumaternity.com
With use of the Bella Band, you will definitely find yourself able to wear your pre-pregnancy wadrobe for an extended period of time. In later months of the pregnancy, you will still want to have some maternity pants, skirts and dresses.
2. Less expensive at $16.98 but also less effective is the Tummy Sleeve, another band available at Motherhood Maternity (motherhood.com). It does not offer as snug a fit as the Bella Band and does not keep the pants up quite as well. The Bella Band is definitely my top recommendation between the two.
3. My third recommendation is a pregnancy support belt. These can be quite pricey but I was able to get one for a reasonable price at motherhood.com
The pregnancy support belt is different from the band that will keep your pants up. This belt offers support to your lower back and belly. You will definitely feel a difference between wearing one and not wearing one.
When you wear the pregnancy support belt, you will feel a much higher level of comfort and will have less difficulty standing or walking for periods of time.
4. Finally, it is important to use a rich lotion or oil frequently on your belly as it stretches. Cocoa butter has been the popular salve for preventing stretch marks but any thick gentle moisturizer or body oil will do.
