Pretty In Pink Wedding Dresses

If you have an upcoming wedding and are looking for a beautiful and unique wedding gown why not consider a pink wedding dress. A pink wedding dress can be a beautiful and elegant way to add a unique touch to your wedding day. And depending on the style of your pink wedding dress it's also possible that you may be able to wear the dress again. Whereas the traditional white wedding gown may only be worn once during its lifetime.

Did you know that until 1840 brides usually didn't even wear white? In fact prior to 1840 a bride might be married in any color that she desired, even black which was a popular color in Scandinavia. So you're probably wondering what happened in 1840 that started the tradition of the white wedding gown.

In 1840 Queen Victoria married wearing a white wedding gown, and that is where it all started. Being the Queen she was no doubt somewhat of a fashion icon for the women of her time. So it of course stands to reason that everyone would also want to emulate her and also wear a white wedding gown. Over time the white gown also came to signify purity which is somewhat of a misconception because in actuality blue is the color of purity.

Pink Weddings

Pink wedding dresses and pink wedding themes promise to be very popular this year. And as we movie into the wedding season you're going to see more and more pink weddings. In fact just recently the actress Reese Witherspoon was married in a light pink strapless gown that was custom designed by Monique Lhuiller.

When choosing a pink wedding gown you pretty much have your choice of shades from the palest and most elegant almost white pink all the up to the more attention getting shades like fuchsia.  Depending on which style and color that you choose a pink wedding dress can be suitable for brides of all ages.

One of the most popular styles of pink wedding dresses is the princess or Cinderella dress. Because of this your going to see a lot of gathered waists and ruffles. Of course this style doesn't suit everyone and you'll still be able to find lots of lovely and elegant A-line dresses as well as some really cute short pink dresses that would work well for bridesmaid as well as for wedding dresses.

  • Absolutely, I love pink wedding dresses.
