Quit Paying for Expensive FACE CREAMS: Make Your Own!

Look younger and softer!

This is my own secret weapon against wrinkles. The triglycerides in the goat's milk add more luster to the skin.The pills are vitamins; the oils add more moisture.

I frequently get compliments on my skin, which is rather smooth and soft-looking for my well over forty age. I have wrinkles, crow's feet and dry skin like most women in my age bracket.I have found that focusing on keep the skin very soft helps to lessen their appearance. It also gives overall skin tone a boost.The answer is not always to go running to a department store for 10.00 an ounce cream--you can make your own Face Cream at home, by starting with a Base Cream from some place like Big Lots or Walmarts.

My favorite "base" cream is available at Big Lots, for around 5.00: you will get 33 ounces of it to work with. It is called Lait de Chevre (Goat's milk) by Caprina Farms. It's a wonderful milk based cream you can buy for the same cost of a Happy Meal at Macdonalds.It is made in Canada, and is difficult to find in mainstream stores (You can order from their website).Any inexpensive large container or body or face cream will do as long as mineral oil is not listed as one of the main ingredients. A body cream will turn into a face cream when you are done with it. If you are too busy to mix something up in advance, just pour a Tbl.or more of a good base cream into your hand and sprinkle in some olive oil to give it more moisture.Again, everyone is different-if the cream is too thin and runs off your face, add more base cream and hold back on the oils.

Pour about a cup or so (it isn't exact} into a bowl and get ready to mix some wonderful things into your base cream. Add:

1 Tablespoons of Glycerin (ask your pharmacy; it's really inexpensive-Rite Aid makes their own brand) This will add more moisture to your skin.

10 or so gell capsules of Vitamins A and E which you will break open and stir in.

1 Tsp to 1 Tbl. of ALMOND oil. It smells and feels wonderful!(I found mine at CVS Pharmacy; you have to really look for it as it is usually with Mexican Import products and Shampoos in some lay-out that is not very obvious. It's worth finding.}

1/4 cup of any NATURAL oil (Walnut oil, Olive oil. My favorite is avocado oil which I buy at a dollar store for just .99}

Mix and save in a container (I prefer glass jar with lids).

Alternate recipe:

Take a jar of a GNC Brand-cream, such as Vitamin C Cream or some other reasonably priced lotion and add:

Aloe Vera Gell (not cream} as so desired.

Mix this is the palm of your hand and apply. The aloe vera gells can be found at any drugstores, and at places like Dollar Stores. I like to treasure hunt and am not too proud to "pick and save" my beauty supplies if it means I have more cash for things like art supplies and home d├ęcor.

If your almost-home-made face cream has a smell that bothers you, add some natural vanilla or almond.Usually the more pure almond oil you add, the nicer it will smell. Slather your mixture on after your bath or shower as night cream. If the mixture is too oily for your taste, add more base cream. This is not a science project. You can get creative as long as you are adding things which you know are good for your skin. (Never add baby oil or mineral oil).The more expensive creams have vitamins and ingredients you can supply on your own. Always wear sun screen daily--never leave the house without it. Never pay for over-priced face creams again!

NOTE: I have also found that BABY cream with added Zinc can be helpful...it was advised by the excellent television series, The Doctors..another bargain idea.

Yes, and you can get creative with it. As long as what you add is good for your skin it should be fine. I use almond and olive oil a lot; sometimes I forget about the vitamins/You can substitute any cream you like as long as it does not have "mineral oil" listed in it. (In my opinion of course) Sometimes I use General Nutrition Centers vit. C cream and enrich it.

Thank you so much for your encouragement. I am using a different mixture now, but I am still blending it myself.

Thank you!! I change the base cream a lot, depending on what is on sale. Just avoid products with mineral oil as they are everywhere and clog your pores.

I have come across some interesting things that people put on their faces. Certain goat's milk seems a unique thing to use.

Thank you! Nothing seems to help my turkey neck these days! I am looking into an arnica oil.
