Classic, Demure, Casual

What's a mixture of red, peach and brown giving you? It's Revlon's "Rum Raisin" lipstick shade. This is one of those shades which have been around for more than 5 decades and now we know why! It is such a versatile color. It is very hard to pinpoint its exact color - maybe more like a red-brown with peach overtone or perhaps, a ruby-beige with plum undertones? I see so many hues in this one, its hard to describe it with just one exact name.

There are so many shades in the Super Lustrous range, when you go on a shopping spree, it's hard to pick just one or two! I bought 9 at one go, one of which I gifted to someone.

THE PACKAGING:

The shade, 535 Rum Raisin is encased in a black plastic tube with a label at the bottom that shows the shade name. The label color itself is very similar to the actual lipstick shade. That is something I really like. The top of the cap is clear which helps to see the lipstick inside and thus, it's a great way to locate the lipstick from very many.

THE PRODUCT:

Rum Raisin is a medium to dark color showcasing a blend of red, peach, brown and plum. It is more like a burnt red color which has been kept for aging and has turned slightly brown. I don't know if you get my description? I'm definitely unable to give the color an exact name, but this happens to be one of my favorite lipstick shades. It looks very dark in the tube and in the forearm swatches, but is slightly lighter on the lips. It also is a very good shade for pigmented lips. It can be worn by all skin tones, fair to dark and warm-cool tones. It has a "Creme" finish and has no shimmer. The lipstick looks glossy and the lips look moisturized. The lipstick itself has a creamy feel and glides effortlessly so there is opaque coverage in one swipe itself! It can be worn sheer for daytime and office days!

Hi, I too have been a fan of "rum raisin" for years now. My only fault with it is it's texture; it feels a bit too heavy for me, and the transference really irks me. Could you suggest a dupe for this shade? Do you suppose MAC, Rimmel, NYX, Maybelline, etc may have a similar one?
