Save Money with Homemade Facials

You don't have to spend a fortune on buying products to do your facials at home. You can use the products that you may already have in your kitchen cupboard.

Avocado and Oatmeal

Avocado has excellent moisturising properties and oatmeal has amazing cleansing properties. The combination of the two make an excellent homemade facial. All you have to do is take one whole soft avocado and scoop out the flesh. Cut the flesh into small cubes and mash it up so it becomes a smooth paste. Take a handful of rolled oats and place them in the avocado paste. Mix the paste thoroughly so that the avocado and oats and mixed well together.

Make sure your face is wet with warm water and apply the mixture to your entire face and neck. Make sure you avoid the sensitive mouth and eye area of your face. Leave the mixture on your face for five to ten minutes and rinse off with warm water. Pat your face dry with a clean towel.

Brown Sugar and Olive Oil

Brown sugar has excellent deep cleansing properties, and olive oil is great for moisturising the skin and preventing the brown sugar from scratching your skin. Put one cup of light brown sugar into a bowl and pour half a cup of olive oil into the cup. Mix the everything together and apply to a wet face rub the mixture into your chin, nose and t zone area and the rest of your face avoiding your eyes and mouth area. Leave the mixture on for five to ten minutes and then rinse off with warm water. Pat your face dry with a clean, soft towel.

Oats and Milk

Put half a cup of rolled oats into a bowl, and add half a cup of full fat milk. Mix together and smooth onto a wet face. Rinse off immediately with warm water. Pat your face dry with a clean soft towel.

Most of the items you can use for homemade facials should be available in your kitchen cupboard. However, even if you do have to go and purchase them you will save yourself plenty of money if you consider how much you would spend on commercial facial products.

Oatmeal is fabulous for pulling bad things out of your tissues! Honey is wonderful, too. And, bentonite clay is one of my favorite things to use, as well.
