Fabulous Silk Scarves and Shawls for Pregnant Women

Updated on August 25, 2015

Over the past few decades, the stance towards expecting women has altered quite radically. Rarely today are women forced to hide themselves away until delivery of the child. As they go to work or wander about socializing or shopping, pregnant women are not different from any other women. They want to show themselves off at their best.

There has been a corresponding change towards maternity clothing over the past few years. Gone is the tendency to design dresses to resemble large tents. The intent may have been to conceal the “bump” but it simply succeeded in making women look like shapeless lumps. Today, women proudly display their condition. They choose close designed to draw attention to rather than hide it.

From France comes an interesting fashion statement for pregnant women. The individual simply takes an extraordinary lengthy scarf, ties it around the bump then basically loops it to one side.  Stretched over the exterior of the outfit, the scarf serves to focus attention on the infant-to-be. The pregnant mother can select a magnificent hand-painted silk scarf to add a sensation of sumptuousness and style.  The addition of a scarf is perfect no matter what your preference – from comfortable maternity slacks to dressier outfits. Silk scarves add chic while being inexpensive and certainly show off your favorite bump. Moreover, the silk scarf will remain in active use long after you have tucked away the maternity wear.

You can purchase silk scarves in any size, shape, color and pattern. The longest ones are best for this usage. Only they can completely wrap around the bump easily and comfortably. Select the colors in co-ordination with your current maternity outfits. Since the range of your regular wear is probably the same, these marvelous silk scarves are bound to find service both during and after pregnancy.

Many women do not revel in revealing their bump, at least not all the time. If they are at the office, many women prefer to downplay the pregnancy. This may also be the case for many evening functions or social occasions. To de-emphasize the bump, use a lengthy, graceful, hand-dyed silk shawl. Since this natural, soft fabric does not cling to the body like human made materials, it draws attention away from the desired spot. Instead, it focuses the eye on sections of the body, the wearer wishes viewers to notice.

Pregnancy is a time for pampering for feeling special. Whatever way you wear them, hand dyed and painted silk scarves and shawls fulfill both roles. These elegant works of wearable art convey class and opulence. This promises to transport any mother-to-be to feel like they are truly the most beautiful of all women.
