Skin Care - How To Get Rid Of Spots

A big event is coming up, and you want to look your best. A day just before the event, you notice that you have spots. Spots could be sometimes downright frustrating, and it affects your confidence. Spots are actually caused when the sebaceous glands right underneath the surface of the skin clogs up with excess sebum. When this happens, the clogged up glands mixed with dead skin cells produce the spots known as blackheads. If the area is infected by bacteria, whitehead spots will appear. Acne could be a problem too with clogged pores. Here are a few skin care tips on how to get rid of spots.

Obviously, prevention is better than cure. It is best to avoid getting spots, instead of getting rid of them. Spots can be easily avoided with proper skin care.

Remove Your Makeup

For girls, one of the biggest mistakes in maintaining healthy facial skin is not removing makeup before falling asleep. No matter how tired you are or how "minimal" makeup you are wearing, you must remove your make up and cleanse the skin before you go to sleep. Leaving in makeup on the skin could cause blockage of the pores.

Cleanse Your Face

While most suggest that washing your face once a day is enough, experts suggest that to prevent or to get rid of spots, you should cleanse your face at least twice a day. It is best to use a deep cleansing facial wash. Lookout for an ingredient called salicylic acid as it is good in clearing off dead skin cells which often causes the clogging up of pores.

Use a gentle exfoliator to help get rid of spots. The exfoliator should be mild enough to be able to use daily. It is a great addition with a good facial cleanser as it penetrates skin deep and removes any dead skin cells on the upper layer of the skin, which helps to keep your face spotless and clean.

Moisturize Your Skin

Even if you have oily skin, you should not skip using moisturizers. When you do not use moisturizers, your skin would produce even more oil. Do not use oily moisturizers, always go for oil-free ones.

The key to get rid of spots is to simply maintain a healthy facial skin care routine. It not only helps to get rid of spots, but prevent them from happening as well.
