The Million-Dollar Smile

Smile and Make a Difference

“A smile can make a difference.” This is what my mom told me when I was still young, since I’m a cry baby before. I often cry and seldom laugh. Until, that particular advice from my mother became an eye opener and an encouragement for me to smile and find reasons to smile too.

Smiling is an act that can really make a difference, not just on other people who watch us as we smile but also unto us. Studies suggest that those individuals who smile more, have more friends and have a good and brighter outlook on life. Thus, a smile may not move a thousand ships but it can definitely change lives.

The Fact about a Smile

Lately, a new study about smile says that genuine smiles are worth more than polite smiles. One can differentiate genuine smile from not through the area around the eyes, called laugh lines, not our eyes themselves. Laugh lines can be produced when we genuinely smile but if we don’t it will never move. A famous photographer further said that the whole face is involved when we truly smile, eh.

The Dilemma of Smile

But how about the case of those people who want to smile but can’t because of their teeth?

Well for one thing, technology nowadays has its own solution for this problem. There are already cosmetic dentists in their usual lab coat and scrub tops to help. They can literally make you smile. They can do teeth whitening to make your teeth look clean and white, or fasten a porcelain veneers on your teeth to make it more natural and yet good to look at, or these people wearing lab coat and scrub tops can invisalign/straighten your teeth without using braces that many kids often wear.

Smiling is nice as long as you have great teeth. But, smiling is nice too even if you don't have a great smile; it lightens up your mood.
