The Nose Ring Bump

the nose ring bump

*sigh* so im sure anybody who's ever had their nose pierced has experienced this problem at least once...so you see all the girls with the super tiny diamonds in there noses and think omg so cute! So you go have yours pierced yadayada well then a while later you notice it. the god awful "nose ring bump". Every one who I've seen get it, it looks different. And I just spent a bunch of time researching about it. Theres soo many different ways people can think of to get rid of it. Theres most definitely not one exact way that works for everyone.

Soo the whole point of this is for the next person frustrated with their bump who decides to google it like I did...here's my story:

I had my nose pierced for several years before I found out what was causing me to get the nose ring bump, and now that I have had it closed for a year or so, I have a pretty ugly scar on my nose. It looks like a giant blackhead. Let me tell you why. My nose ring bump was always bothering me so I was always picking at it. It would grow into like a squishy pimple, sometimes big, sometimes small. It never grew over the piercing, just right on the side of it. It would always fill up with puss so I would pop it and drain it. After awhile the bump was always there and kept getting harder and nothing would come out except blood when I tried to pop it. That is because I was building up scar tissue from messing with it so much.

I went to several piercers and asked them, and they for some reason had no idea what was causing it. Finally, I experienced a similar problem with two other piercings that I had on my face and realized that the reason I kept getting the nose ring bump was because my body was rejecting the fake metal that I was using. I remember a period of time that I had a solid gold nose ring and never had the bump at all. Some people are lucky and their body is not allergic to the metal so the piercing just heals without any problems. But if you keep getting the nose ring bump , you are most likely allergic to the metal. You have to take care of it right away because you do not want a scar or scar tissue to build up. Make sure you always wash your hands and sterilize everything. Try getting a solid gold or silver nose ring. That will almost guaranteed fix the problem. If not, then you should just take the piercing out as bad as you don't want to.

I hope this helps!! Please feel free to comment !

I have a nose hoop in and i can unscrew the ball that keeps it together. I'd rather not go to a place and get them to undo it because then my mother gets concerned that it's infected even though i explain it happens to everyone but whatever.. hahah anywaay. could i just pop it well the hoop is still in? or would that make it worse? also how do you know if it's infected?

ayrica29 profile image

ayrica29 6 years ago from USA Author

yeah i would say you can pop it while the hoop is in because i've done that before. just make sure you clean it really well and don't pick at it a lot. also don't put any makeup on it or that will make it worse definitely. its really easy to tell if its infected because it will be red and sore or have pus. if you want to have the ball taken out just wait til it heals then go to the place to have it taken out so you can change it. but don't change it until its completely healed. and don't mess with it too much because that will make it worse.

turtleurtle 6 years ago

okay, I had the SAME problems and I tried all of the stuff everyone else has including H2Ocean, sea salt on cotton, Vitamin E, Tea Trea, and I popped it quit a few times and would get the puss and blood out and it would go away...then come right back. I was so tired of it and so frustrated. Finally, I changed to a 14kt gold bar and it went away within a week and never came back. I really do think it is your bodys way of rejecting the metal, I think it is something everyone should try, it is a very good guess if nothing else.

If it's bleeding when you pop it, it means the bump is not a pimple. It's scar tissue, and picking at it or popping it can make it worse or cause it to be permanent.

What works for me is cleaning the area with alcohol and appling bacitracin ointment after. Stay away from the nose rings with the bulbs on the end. Just get the straight ones. I use the plastic, stainless steel and pure gold nose rings and the nose bumps does not reapear. The moment I put a nose ring in with the bulb on the end however beautiful they may be I get an ugly nose bump. I suggest shop around for some trendy staight nose rings...

kk so I got my nose pierced like 1-2 Months ago . I have like this bump thing next to the piercing and it WILL NOT GO AWAY . It's really bothering me . First I just thought it was a regular bump so I just kept putting h20 ocean spray thing , then I noticed that it got bigger so I decided to rub it with the h20 sea water & little pieces of scabs came off & some puss even came out it got small but it was really red . The next day is was smaller then the day before so I thought it was healing until the next day it got big & it just kept getting bigger . I reallyyyy want this bump to get away but I really don't want to take off my piercing since I BEGGED my mom for a longgg time for it . HELP

sarah 5 years ago

this helped me more than my piercer did lol. i've had my nose pierced for almost a year now( but this is my 4th time having it done). mine will get better then out of nowhere it pops up again. one time that it came up i jus kind of pushed my nose sideways so i could see it up close in the mirror and when i did it popped, it bled and puss came out. after that i washed it and it felt much better and it went away for a long time. unfortunately its happening again, this time it doesn't have a white head looking thing on it, its just all red. it actually popped a lil bit yesterday, but it didn't go away. by the way what does everyone wash their piercing with? my piercer told me to use Dove Bar Soap unscented for sensitive skin, but my cousin uses contact solution. my nose still isn't healed so i cant' even take my nose ring in and plus, plus it hurts sometimes so im actually scared to. i need help and my piercer says he can't do anything

lolah 5 years ago

its friggen gross and ugly. kinda relieving to know that it happens to a lot of ppl lol. my friends have their nose pierced and none of them got the huge ugly zit looking thing just me.. i am so regretting my nose ring right now.

Ashley 5 years ago

yeah. i have this weird bump i my nose ring too. but myne is next to my nose ring. its just a red bubble pimple looking thing. its gross and its really bugging meh. its been there for about a week and a half or two. what i use is sea salt water, it helped just a little for the cleaning. but idk what to say

ayrica29 profile image

Ashley,

Mine was right next to my nose ring also. Try getting a real gold nose ring and see if it goes away after a week or so. you can find the real gold ones at claire's in the mall for like 20 or so dollars. it might be expensive but totally worth it. your body is probably rejecting the metal that you are using now that is why the bump is there. don't try to pop it or you will get a scar .

Paige 5 years ago

I got my nose pierced about a month ago and I'm just starting to notice a small bump right next to my piercing. I have a 14kt gold stud that I got from the salon. I think I got it because in was neglecting to clean it three times a day. I have since kept up cleaning it regularly and at school but I'm worried that it's going to get bigger. I use anti bacterial soap and then soak my nose in a sea salt solution twice a day. I'm not really sure what else to do? I know that hydrogen peroxide and rubbing alcohol are very bad to clean piercings with... So I feel like I'm in a pickle!

Jenna 5 years ago

I just got my nose pierced a little over a week ago, I also got that nasty bump. At first, I tried the Vitamin E, then today switched to saline solution (the kind specially for wounds, cuts, etc.) the first time I used it, the bump went down and fell off in the shower. But now, there is a red bump of blood underneath that white bump that just fell off and I have no idea what it is! I know it's not dried up blood, it's literally like a smaller version of the last bump except it's red and bleeds everytime I put saline on it. It hurts a lot too.

Gmarie 4 years ago

hey that really helped me out i've had the same issue when I had nose rings in the past, well I want to get my nose pierced again because I loved it when I had it so my question is where's a good place to find gold nose rings?

ayrica29 profile image

ayrica29 4 years ago from USA Author

Gmarie,

the most common places i have seen carry gold nose rings are claire's and icing. a lot of the malls in my area have a place called "piercing pagoda" that sells a lot of real gold body jewelry. i have seen them at wal-mart too. you can pretty much find them at most places that sell nose rings, they are going to run around 20-60 dollars depending on what you get.

Definitely not....if you have not had jewelry in the piercing for that long, and a bumb has formed, then it is scar tissue. if you pierce through the scar tissue, you are going to get a hard bump that will never go away because it will build more scar tissue on top of what is already there.

Angela 4 years ago

so ive had this nasty crappy little bump too, all squishy annoying and with puss -- for like a month or 2 straight! i got the tea tree oil that helps everyone and did crap for me, i even used the ibuprofen, like you crush it and add water till it makes a paste and you put it on.. it kinda worked but didn't fully take get it away. then one day i gave up and then it went away *happiest girl alive* after 2 weeks IT CAME BACK! its been a month now im pissed and annoyed my mom and brother annoy me cause of it.. i have the stupid paste on it on right now -__- .. i read somewhere else that vitamin E worked.. luckily i have some so im gonna try it... but im so mad :( if it doesn't work ill invest in a gold stud.. but i prefer silver :((( waaaaah! hate this ugly bump! :(

ayrica29 profile image

ayrica29 4 years ago from USA Author

Angela,

it is definitely worth it to invest in jewelry made from real gold. if you want silver, you could get a while gold one. the more you mess with the bump, the more irritated it is going to get and the harder it will be to get it to heal.

I have had my nose ting for a month now and the red bump boil thingy came up about a week ago and it want go away I'm try gold ring but do I need to pop it or will it go away on it's on? I'm very scared I'll have a scare! What do I use to clean it with? I use sea salt right now!

I don't wanna take it out please tell me what should I do??

put the -real-gold nose ring in and wait a few days for it to heal. the bump is from your body rejecting the metal, so it is not going to go away until you take the cheap metal out and put the good metal in. you can pop it if it is really bothering you but i would try not to .

shannon 4 years ago

I've had mine done and it's got this massive bump on the side and I have no idea how to get my nose ring out, I've only had it for like 3 weeks! it's a sort of nose ring which has a ball on the end and I've tried unscrewing it put the ball is to close to the bars which basically connect it (sounds conplicated) so I think it's impossible to get it out!?!?:-( I'm getting so worried now

michelle 4 years ago

walmart actually sells 14k gold ones for less than $15 bucks i think but definitely less than $20. I've never have a "nose ring bump", but that may be because i'm allergic to fake jewelry. so i've never worn it.

Farhana 4 years ago

Try solid gold or platinum stay clear of silver as it oxidises (tarnishes)

Ive mine done fir three months and got that big red things inside the nose I've tried the aspirin paste but it's still here Pls help me

Sue 4 years ago

I've had my nose pierced for about 4 weeks and the 'bump' appeared a week ago. It looks like a pimple right next to the piercing. I have a titanium stud and I was told that as it's a pure metal I shouldn't have any problems......but it looks like it might be the cause of it. I've had my nose pierced before and I had the same sort of bump appear. That time it was a surgical steel stud.

It sounds like gold is the way to go, but should I wait for a few more weeks till I know the hole is more healed before changing the stud or is it Ok to change it now (seeing as it's only been 4 weeks? Also what is the best Karat gold to use? 14K or 18K?

Any advice would be much appreciated as my bump seems to be growing in size and I want to get rid of it!

ayrica29 profile image

ayrica29 4 years ago from USA Author

Well it is never a good idea to mess with something if it is infected, but the infection is not going to go away until you remove the cause. I would just change it right away and then not mess with it until it heals. 18k is probably the best.

Sue 4 years ago

Thanks for your response. I agree that changing it sooner rather than later would be the best thing to do.

Carol 4 years ago

Hello!! I Just took off my nose piercing because I am tired of it getting red and infected with a small bump next to it, I cleaned it with sea salt sokes and it popped and started bleeding.

The jewerelly is off now, but now it's still a bit swollen and red with a small sort of black coloured dot in the middle. Will it ever go back to normal? I hate this so much... How long does it take until it goes back to a normal colour?

ayrica29 profile image

ayrica29 4 years ago from USA Author

If it is infected, I advise you to put non-allergenic jewelry so that the hole does not close up with the infection inside. and you should try not to mess with it as much as possible. I took my nose ring out about two years ago when I wrote this and I still have that black dot that you mentioned and it is never going to go away. I learned the hard way about facial piercings. now I have an ugly scar :(

Pierce 4 years ago

the bump is not always caused by a metal allergy or infection, sometimes it is because your piercing is irritated. Dirt, makeup, touching or playing with your piercing, and not drying it when you get out of the shower will all cause a bump to form. Avoid using bactine, rubbing alcohol or peroxide as they will dry out the inside of your piercing and irritate it more. Also, never ever use polysporin as it is a petroleum based product and is meant for topical wound treatment only. Petroleum products tend to trap bacteria between the layers of the skin if there is no air to reach them which will just proliferate infection.

Ally 4 years ago

So I've had my nose pierced for almost a year. I changed the piercing into a hoop nose ring a few months ago. The piercing is made out of titanium. Every once in a while I get the nose ring bump. I asked my piercer and he told me to use the aspirin paste thing, which I do. But it eventually comes back after a couple of weeks. What do I do? I have other piercings made out of titanium and they are fine. Why is my nose ring different?

Nicole 4 years ago

is it ok to change your nose ring after about a month to the gold ring? I know it is better to have a gold one in than anything else but will changing it too soon make it worse? I have the bump on my nose and I've been using tea tree oil and aspirin with salk soaks, seems to be helping a bit but unfortunatly the bump is still there.

Ally- Try tea tree oil. It costs about 10 dollars. Make sure it is 100 percent tea tree oil as well. You just take a qtip and dip it in and just put it on the bump. This has helped mine a lot even though I was scared to try it!

Bec 4 years ago

I know this goes against everything I've ever read about jewellery for nose piercings, but it worked for me. About nine months after I had my nose pierced, I changed the stainless steel screw for a sterling silver L bend stud and haven't had the dreaded bump since!

I clean all my jewellery regularly in bicarb and hot water and I haven't had a problem with discolouration. I take the stud out every night to wash it in antibacterial soap and to wipe my nose with toner and cover it with paper tape before I go to sleep so I don't accidentally pull it out during the night, which I did do once.

Lina 4 years ago

Im scared. I got my nose piercing about a month and half ago and i really dont want to get the discolouration or bump i hear everyone tlking about.i am willing to take it off asap but i was wondering what i should do as soon as I take it off to avoid this from happening?

Just make sure you keep the area clean and do not be constantly messing with it. If you try to clean it too much it will get dried out and irritated. Don't take the jewelry in and out to clean it. Put the jewelry in and leave it in. Clean around it. Avoid touching the area as much as possible. Never pick at it. Never clean the area unless your hands are CLEAN. Avoid putting make up on the area.

So I got my nose piercing around 2-3 months ago and I love it! But I've been starting to see this red bubble growing next to the piercing. My friends told me that everybody gets them and to not worry, I've just been putting cream on it. At first it was barely noticeable, but these past few days it's been growing to the point that it gt noticeable. It is pretty annoying to see this random bubble there. I recently just popped it earlier today and only blood came out, when I popped it I began to put rubbing alcohol. But since it's my first piercing I don't know what to do. I need help. What should I do now?? :/ I need advice on how to handle this so this bubble wont appear again

katelyn 4 years ago

the exact same thing happened to me and ive had myn pierced since the summer...i found that tee tree oil helps a lot but thats just for me. myn is in the process of healing i just took my nose ring out last night but i am terrified of it scaring would it be bad to put peroxide or rubbing alchohol on it? and then bactegrass i know someone on here said they used that but i heard your not supposed to :s

Claudine 4 years ago

This helps a lot!!

Thanks, I've never really had nose pierce problems for the last 3x that I had it done so it didn't scare me no matter how many times I have my nose pierce except this time! For the fourth time and I somehow lost the ring and just force in an earring on my nose so it wouldn't close, and now that i have a new nose ring, i felt a bump!! :(

ayrica29 profile image

ayrica29 4 years ago from USA Author

whatever you use to clean your piercing, here are the basics: don't use something so harsh that it will cause your skin to get more irritated and don't over clean it. don't mess with it. keep the area clean and irritation free. the only thing picking at it will do is cause it more irritation and so will messing with the jewelry. only touch it when you clean it and only clean it as much as is necessary. try to avoid putting make up around it or at least be very careful. the make up is going to get in there along with sweat and dirt from the air and cause it to get more irritated...the only time you should mess with your nose piercing is when you put a good quality piece of jewelry in it and when you carefully and gently clean the area once or twice a day.

Frankster 4 years ago

I have this bump as well and I'm willing to try the new metal thing but I really hate gold jewelry... Is there a silver or white gold ring available that will work? I really don't want another scar haha

Nagchag 4 years ago

I just pulled the ring out and went to the doctor - she gave me a 'healing gell' and antibiotics. I was so hesitant to take it out for weeks but it just isn't worth the frustration.

KimVo 4 years ago

I've had my nose piercing in for over a year and I still get this bump every few weeks, that lasts about a week. I clean it once a day and I've never changed my jewelry, which is surgical steel. Why am I still getting this bump????

Relief! 4 years ago

I got my nose pierced 8 weeks ago. About 3 weeks ago I noticed 'the bump' and within a week it had gotten bigger and full of puss & blood. I went to the doctor, he drained the puss & blood and applied a small amount of silver nitrate on my nose (to kill the skin). He gave me a course of anti biotics to take for 2 weeks. I went back to the docs 2 days later and it had practically healed. I finished the anti biotics 4 days ago and woke up this morning and the bump was back and bigger and more painful than ever. Went back to the piercers about 3 hours ago and got my nose ring removed. The bump is gone already and beginning to heal properly. Moral of the story, if your body is rejecting it, take it out! Hope this helps!!

alma 4 years ago

okay so i gt mines done about a month and 2 weeks ago and i got this red bump right next to my piercing.. i tried to like pop it but i didn't work, and now its like red and kinda big:( (i barely got this "bump" like 4 days ago) so im really scared to tell my mom because i know shes gonna tell me to take it out.. so i bought tea tree oil and ive been putting it 2 a day but people say it makes things worse! what should I do?:( please help..

ayrica29 profile image

ayrica29 4 years ago from USA Author

yes you can get basically whatever type of metal that your body will not reject. the bump happens because of a combination of your body rejecting the metal and all the sweat and dirt and makeup that gets on your nose throughout the day.

tiara3339 4 years ago

okay so i got mine done 4 weeks ago and then 3 days ago this bubble came up under and a little bit next to my stud.My mum said its because i didn't clean it properly but i thought i was doing all right with the cleaning.i thought i should trust her since she had her nose done 2 and has heaps more.now i got a silver stud in , my mum said that if it doesn't heal up in a weak she gonna take me back to the piecer place.its good as well cause most of my family know her because they all the time go to that girl.

(plz help)cause they reckon if i goes into my hole then i have to take it out and wait for i to heal and then re-pierce it but mine cost $50 so if i have to take it out should i go with gold

Patricia 4 years ago

Actually 14 kt gold has impurities in it, believe it or not. Look it up.

I am very allergic to gold if it's not 24 kt.

Only surgical steel, plastic, and 24 kt gold are completely impurity-free.

ayrica29 profile image

ayrica29 4 years ago from USA Author

Good point Patricia. If you are getting a body piercing, then it's likely you have already had enough experience with jewelery to know what type of metals your body can deal with.

D. Stew 4 years ago

yeah so i got my nose pierced like three weeks ago, and now ive had that stupid bump for a week now. I totally agree with that your body would reject fake metal because ive had the same thing happen with my earings. i got em pierced and was fine for a couple weeks, then i put in soom cheap earing and my ear had a terrible red bump the next morning, i put the other ones back in and the bump went away a couple days later. Im definitely gonna buy a gold hoop for my nose ring. Also, i heard that putting a hot chamomile tea bag on the bump helps. i tried it and it went down a little. just make a cup of chamomile tea and put the tea bag on the bump as hot as you can take it

jenny 4 years ago

Ive had my nose rin done for 3 weeks and i got that same bump. Every morning i would clean the scabing off but this morning thatbump popped and abunch of blood came out. Im sure its becaude my body is rejecting the jewlery cause the same thing happened to my ears. Should i wait till my nose fully heals and just keep cleaning it like usual and than change it to the gold? I really dont want to have to take it out

jenny 4 years ago

Ive only had mine in for 3 weeks so would it be bad to change it before its fully healed

Eloise 4 years ago

Actually, these bumps are called keloids, and you get them from iritating your peircing, mostly from sleeping on it. Try not touching it, sleeping with a bandaid over it and cleaning it twice a day with a cotton bud and salt water. It should go away within days.

fatima.K 4 years ago

PLEASE REPLY !

i have had this huge bump and i KNOW its because im allergic to the metal, because my ears are the same i put gold and they healed perfect, if i put silver or fake metal, they get infected , but my nose bump is pretty, big i tried everything ! i recently got a gold hoop , because ( i originally had a hoop ) , and my piercer said they usually dont change the piercing WITH the bump ... depending on the size , and mines pretty big :( , the only way it'll go away is if i put the new 14k hoop in !! what should i doo ?? , im scared if i do it myself i wont be able to get the ring in , and my piercing willl close :( , ive had it for 4 months now , & if i move the ring around it literally hurts like i JUST got it pierced :(

Gabby 4 years ago

I got my nose done on June 8th and like a week or so later the bump formed. It was only small so I didn't really worry but within days later and up til now it got bigger and has been annoying me so much. I don't want a gold piercing in my nose and I've tried leaving it alone and just cleaning it when necessary but it still hasn't gone away. I gave up last night and decided to take it out and not put it back in. So anyways my question is.. How long will it take for my bump to go away? Not too long right? I don't want it there for when I go back to school in September.

kenya 4 years ago

I got my nose pierced 4 months ago and I started to get those nose bumps after 2 months but the problem is that i got nose bumps constantly like every 2 weeks is it normal?? why should i do??

Jade 4 years ago

Omg the same thing has happened to me I've had the piercing for about 2 months and figured it was healed so I stopped cleaning it as much and now I have a bump right at the side of my piecing. I thought cleaning it in the shower would be enough. I love my nose ring I really don't want to remove it. I have since begun cleaning it everyday to see if it goes away. I am one of those unlucky people who can't wear fake earrings so I think I am gonna try the suggestions I have read here on purchasing a gold earring.

Kalley 3 years ago

Ok so I have been cleaning my nose ring a lot and then I got this huge bump and it's not red or filled with pus I wouldn't say it was infected, but it is really doer I tried poping it and it bleeds really bad I take it out for a bit and then put it back in anyways do you think I should take it out and wait for it 2 heal or do you think it will be fine?

Hi i pierced my nose in oct 2013

The 1st few weeks no bumps nothing and just when i thought the piercing had started to heal the boil appeared and ever since its been coming and going.

I tried everything i clean the piercing everyday dry it properly

Am Indian and use pure gold piercing always (and am not allergic to gold) but the boil still came and went so my mom gave me a dried neem twig as a make shift nose ring (since neem has antibacterial properties..blah blah) that worked for almost a month until it came right back

Am really fed up! :(

Wont it ever go away ????

JenArt 2 years ago

I took my titanium L-post out 8 months ago and I still have the bloody bump. It pops every couple of days then just fills up with blood again. I had hoped that removing the jewelry would make it go away, but it persists. I have no idea what to try at this point, it seems like nothing works.....

Lisa 21 months ago

I got my nose pierced and about 2 weeks after I had a bump....I was cleaning it properly....it was sore....I changed the piercing and got it adjusted as well....I was so fed up....2 months after getting my piercing I decided to take it out.....my bump was pretty much gone/healed within 24 hours. It was a HUGE relief. It was actually causing me anxiety from being so frustrated. I guess it just wasn't for me!!!

ayrica29 profile image

ayrica29 21 months ago from USA Author

Stop popping it and messing with it. Let it heal on its own. Keep your hands away from it as much as possible. Use a cotton swab with only water to clean the area and be gentle. If you are using the proper jewelry for your skin, the bump will come and go just like any other acne on your face. The key is keeping it clean by not touching it.

Mimi 20 months ago

So I pierced my nose about 5 months ago and I got a bump it went away eventually but I wantes to get a new ring which was the corkscrew ones. Anyway I got it changes and the next day it got really irritatiEd and the stud keeps sinking in. So I decied to take it out and rest it overnight. I usually get a rash whenever I wear fake jewelry around my neck but never my ears. I wonder if that's the cause. If I get a gold ring is it better to get a hoop or stud for it to heal faster ?

ayrica29 profile image

ayrica29 20 months ago from USA Author

If the stud keeps sinking in, it could be because the gauge of your new jewelry is smaller than your old jewelry which is common if you were still wearing the jewelry you got pierced with. It could also be because of the irritation causing the piercing to swell around the jewelry. I now have my nose pierced twice on one side. The top piercing is a 14K gold stud that I never change or bother in any way. It never gets infected nor has it ever gotten the bump. The bottom piercing I change between a hoop and a stud when the mood strikes. Anytime I change it, the bump appears for a couple of days and then goes away. I only drain it one time when it comes to a head very similar to when acne sores have turned white and ready to pop. Anytime my skin appears to be dirty or oily, I will clean the area with a q-tip and water very gently. I like hoops because they give the piercing better room to heal.

Sarah 14 months ago

i got my nose pierced two months ago twice on the same side. One of the piercings has a labret stud and the other has a hoop with a captive bead. These are the original pieces of jewelry put in by the piercer. I've never had any issues with the stud but after a few weeks, I developed a bump/boil like thing next to the hoop. I've continued with sea salt soaks 3x a day but it's still there. Aspirin paste, sea salt paste, tea trea oil, and hydrocortisone cream all haven't made it go away. I've popped it twice ever when it looked like a pimple and blood and puss came out. Throughout the day, I don't touch it. What can I do to get rid of this unsightly bump? I've ordered two 14k 20g 5/16 rose gold hoops (which is what I've been wanting since getting the piercings) but I'm afraid that this bump won't go away. It looks like scar tissue under the skin and I'm considering using silver nitrate but should I just give up and retire the piercing? Thanks in adbance!
