We all want to feel and look beautiful but unfortunately we can’t all afford expensive treatments. I mean really have you seen the prices for a day at the spa, they can literally charge you an arm and a leg to do what you can do at home for a fraction of the price. Everything from the seaweed wraps to the mud masks can be done made and done at home. Most of the spa treatment recipes are made from organic materials that cost pennies. So I thought I would put together a few simple and cheap treatment recipes so you can save you hard earned money during this recession and have a spa day at home.
1. Foot scrub Recipe
1 cup sea salt or Epson salt
1/2 cup cold water
2 drops lavender oil
Make paste and rub in a circular motion on the sole of your feet, remove unwanted dry skin, rinse with warn water
2. Foot soak recipe
7 cups of water
2 cups milk
Warm on stove, warm enough to place you feet in with out burning, soak feet for 15-20 minutes daily rinse with warn water pat dry. This will help relax you muscles in you feet and help keep them smooth and soft as well
I love home made face masks, there are literally hundreds of recipes and most of them work like a charm. My skin feels so soft, fresh and clean after 20 minutes in a mask. Here is the recipe I use most often
3. Mask recipe
1 tablespoon of plain yogurt
Blend in blender or processor, apply to face and leave for 20-30 minutes rinse with warm water and pat face dry.
4. Overnight Mask recipe
Juice from ½ a lemon
1 egg beaten
Mix together apply to face avoiding around the eyes, leave over night and rinse with warm water, Not recommended for those who have sensitive skin or if you have allergic reaction to either eggs or lemons.
5. Recipe to relax your muscles and mind
4 cups Epson salts
3 drops lavender oil
Add to hot bath and soak as needed, rinse with warm water
6. Recipe to Sooth dry skin and tired muscles
1 cup oatmeal ground up
1 cup milk warmed
2 cups Epson salts
Grin oatmeal in coffee grinder, blender or processor, add into hot bathwater with milk and salts, soak as need rinse with warn water

7. Soft skin anti aging soak recipe
½ cup 100% pure cranberry juice
1 large carrot
2 tablespoons Olive oil
Grate the carrot, or even better, puree the carrot. Mix carrots and juice in a small bowl. Let set for 1 hour, add Olive oil, heat in microwave for 20 seconds. Soak hands for 10-15 minutes. Rinse well. Carrots and cranberries are loaded with antioxidants and the olive oil will soften the skin
- Nail strengthening soak recipe
2 egg yolks, beaten
1/4 cup milk
1 tablespoon honey
Mix ingredients in a small bowl. Soak nails for 10-15 minutes. Rinse well. Protein from the eggs and calcium from the milk will make those nails hard as rocks.
Teeth and hair
9. Teeth whitening recipe
1 tablespoon baking soda
Water to make a paste
Cut strawberry in half, rub on teeth for a few minutes, rinse with warm water make past with baking soda and water brush teeth with paste rinse with water. Do this daily for whiter brighter teeth…and yes I’m serious about the strawberry…
10. Shiny silky hair recipe
2 bags of tea
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Boil water and brew tea, remove bags and let cool add lemon and use for final rinse on you hair and then rinse with water. Do this regularly for shiny healthy hair.
To remove dry skin and dirt wash with baking soda first then shampoo, condition and use tea rinse.
