Top Five Lotions For Dry Skin

Dry Skin Lotions

Everyone suffers from dry skin at one time or another. This is especially true during the cold winter months when cold weather and dry heat takes a toll on your skin. During cold weather and when skin is exposed to harsh weather it's important to use hydrating lotions often.

During colder months you can experience dry skin on most areas of your body but most people usually notice it on their hands first. Which is most likely due to increased hand washing and the use of antibacterial hand cleaner which contain a large alcohol that unfortunately tends to further dry out your skin.

Aquaphor is one of the top rated lotions for healing dry cracked sensitive skin. Tough on dry skin and gentle enough for use on a baby's skin this is one of the top dry skin lotions recommended by dermatologists.

Neutrogena Norwegian Therapy

Dermatologist recommended this thick concentrated cream was developed for use by Norwegian fishermen who work under some of the harshest conditions on earth. Just remember that with this extra thick cream, a little goes a long way.

Vanicream Moisturizing Skin Cream

Formulated for dry sensitive skin, this thick cream works well for eczema and can be used for the entire body even your face.

Neutrogen Fragrance Free 24 Hour Moisturizer

This non-greasy fragrance free lotion provides all day moisture for dry chapped skin. This lotion works well for sensitive skin and people suffering from psoriasis.

Udderly Smooth Udder Cream

A farmer's best kept secret this gentle cream originally developed for use on dairy cows to help keep the skin on their udders from drying out and cracking during cold months. And after a while the farmers also noticed a big improvement in the condition of their hands.

It's important to apply a hydrating lotion or cream each and every time you wash your hands. Also be sure to apply lotion and wear your gloves before going outdoors into the cold.

My son and I have eczema and my son's pediatrician recommended Vanicream. I started using it too because it doesn't have any irritants like or ingredients that are bad for your skin. I won't ever use anything else because it works great for cracked heals and hands and it only takes about 1-2 weeks to have smooth skin.
