Symbols

The umbrella design could portray a number of symbols, including the global symbol of "protection." We use the umbrella for a variety of reasons, mainly for shelter and shade.

It can be coupled with many different associations as well. From insurance to Mary Poppins, it's more then a small shelter from the rain. However, rain is one of the most popular images to couple with the umbrella, for obvious reasons. The design might also have quotes that are associated with rain, such as "Bring on the rain" or "When it rains, it pours."

Of course, it can also just be decorative.

Bill, always great to hear from you pal. I am always open to request. Truth be said, I have wrote so many that I have trouble finding new ones:) So any request is appreciated. I will see what I can come up with.

I do not believe I have ever seen an umbrella tattoo. How very odd and unique. Great presentation, lyricwriter! I agree with Bill, I'd like to see one on mythical creatures like unicorns, Pegasus, etc. Voted up and more. :)

These are unique, some cute, some a little bit naughty, all so different. I wasn't sure what to expect when I saw the title and was surprised to see so many.

Well presented and very interesting as always.

Voting up and more

What an unusual choice for a tattoo -- I don't think I've ever seen one in Southern California. I imagine they're more common in rainier climes, such as Seattle. Voting this Up and Beautiful.

As always, just love your tatt hubs lyric. I'm adding an umbrella to the list of tattoos I want to get done.
