Urban Decay Oz The Great and Powerful Glinda Good Witch Palette Review
There are two limited edition eye shadow palettes from Urban Decay for the movie Oz: The Great and Powerful. The palettes feature the two witches, one good and one bad. I purchased the good witch palette - Glinda. It features lots of pink, purples and glitter! I figured this was best for my light skin tone. Along with the six eye shadow shades, two of which are "double", comes an eye liner and lip color. The eye liner is a purple shade while the lip pencil is a dark and shiny muted pink.
This palette is packaged in a shiny box with pictures and names of the eye shadow shades on the back as well as a photo of Glinda, the witch that inspired the look included. Inside the box is the actual palette, which comes in a very nice metal tin, which sure does feel quite premium. I believe it is very similar in packaging to the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette, but I do not own it so I can not say with 100% certainty.
The inside of the palette features six eye shadow pots, which you can actually pop out. In the center of the rows is the eye pencil. The lip color is actually loose. This is the one thing I don't like about this palette. I really wish there was storage inside for the lip pencil.
The colors in this palette are super saturated and gorgeous. It seems every color in this palette blends perfectly with one another. The look included on the card also couldn't be any better! Of course, there are a lot of other looks that can be created with this palette.
I really like how there is a purple eyeliner pencil included. I don't do well with black, but other colors are A-OK with me. This pencil is gorgeous and is easy to use. The lip color is also pretty nice. At first, I was a bit dubious because it looked SUPER shiny, but after it dried, it was only slightly shiny and looked absolutely stunning. It is a very nice lip pencil. The problem, though, is it doesn't in one bit look like what Glinda is wearing on the back of the box, but I guess that doesn't matter.
My favorite color in this set is actually Aura. This is the center color in the palette that consists of a pale grey and a pale pink. These two colors make great bases for the other shadows and excellent highlighters for the inner corner of the eye.
I would totally recommended this palette! It is around $50, but it feels ultra high-quality and premium. The shades would work well for anyone. If you're in the market for a light or shimmery eye shadow palette, this is one you should not pass up, especially since it is limited edition.
