FiveFingers KSO Shoes

If you have never heard of Vibram FiveFingers KSO Footwear (or as I like to call them, toe shoes) don't worry, you are not alone. While I'm still on the fence as to whether or not I actually like these shoes…allow me to introduce you to the company that sells them. The Vibram Company was founded by Vitale Bramani in 1935. Mr. Bramani invented the first rubber soles for mountaineering boots and has been the undisputed leader in soling technology ever since. For over seventy years, Vibram has been making high quality soles and today, manufactures more than thirty-four million soles annually for more than 1000 premium footwear brands around the globe. Now that's impressive!

FiveFingers KSO Shoes

Remember going barefoot as a child? Many young children do not like to wear shoes. In fact, when my nieces and nephews visit me, they take their shoes off the second they walk in the door. There's just something nice about freeing your feet from shoes and feeling the grass beneath your toes. FiveFingers Shoes allow you to feel as if you are going barefoot while still protecting your feet. The Vibram Company claims that FiveFingers Shoes actually stimulate the muscles in your feet and lower legs and help to build strength and improve your range of motion. They also help to improve posture and sense of balance.

Regular shoes insulate you from your surroundings. FiveFingers Footwear claims to deepen your connection to not only the earth…but your surroundings as well. Fitness enthusiasts have discovered FiveFingers Shoes and wear them during a variety of activities including yoga, Pilates, kayaking and windsurfing…just to name a few. FiveFingers Shoes are wonderful for any activity that you would rather do barefoot but for whatever reason, feel the need to protect your feet.

FiveFingers Shoes are available for both men and women. They are machine washable but SHOULD NOT be put into the clothes dryer. They come in a variety of colors and styles and range in price from $130 to $150. If you do not like the feeling of something between your toes…these shoes are not for you as they have individual sections for each toe. Personally, I don't mind shoes that go between my toes, however, I can't get past the price and the fact that they look like a pair of rainbow colored toe socks I owned as a teenager! Maybe one day, I will splurge and purchase a pair of FiveFingers Shoes. After all, I'm not against investing in a GOOD pair of shoes...especially if they improve my posture! And besides, my Mother use to say, "Don't knock'em until you try'em!" If you own a pair of Vibram FiveFingers KSO Shoes, let me know! I would love to get some comments from people who actually own and wear these interesting shoes!
