What are the risks and procedures involved in tummy tuck surgery?
Tummy tuck procedure or abdominoplasty to remove excess fat in the stomach area became popular because a firm stomach is nice to look at (or for aesthetic purposes), but there are some risks involve in the tummy tuck procedure. Does the risks outweigh the advantages?
I think every person has to weigh the risks to determine whether or not they are willing to accept the risks. After all, even though the risk may be a one in a million chance that a incident may occur, YOU might be the ONE in a million. Then you have to ask yourself if you are willing to take that chance.
The tummy tuck surgery can be a fairly routine surgery. Or, some people opt for more extensive surgery which might involve other body areas, like the area under the breast, the hips, and buttocks. It all depends on how extensive the tummy tuck will be. In a basic tummy tuck, the surgeon makes an incision in the lower part of the abdomen to cut through skin, muscle, and fat. Afterwards, there is a scar that needs healing. Sometimes the scar can take up to a year or more to heal. Some people have even had to have surgery to remove the scar tissue received after surgery.
