   The best way is by laser removal. You have other options but they don't work nearly as good. If your into other options, you could consider a cover up tattoo. But by far, laser removal is your best bet. Creams do not work good at all. With laser removal, depending on the size of your tattoo, it can take a few appointments to make sure it is completely gone. On average, your looking at 4-8 times with laser removal. It takes it all off, plus there are little side affects. Just make sure you go to a professional.

      Lyric. what is the average cost with laser removal? The pros around here want to charge $500 per sq. inch. Got a sq.inch of green ink i want off and they said no guarantees but could probably tell with one appt. if it will work. $500 for that!

      Alastar,that is in range, but a little high compared to around here. Green ink is the hardest to remove. I really doubt it coming out in one session. It just depends on how much and what shade. Or course, darker takes longer. Looking at a few minimum

   I would say laser removal. I don't know of any places that do it and how much it would cost/ how painful it is but that would be my first answer. Then there's makeup specially made to cover up tattoos but thats just a temporary fix. If you have a tattoo you don't like you could always consider getting a nice cover-up too. And I've heard of people getting a skin toned ink over thier tattoos so it's less noticeable.

   I know this is a bit late, but I just joined the site. Laser tattoo removal is really the only successful way to remove a tattoo. If you are considering it, you should check with tattoo shops near you and see if they do it. You may have to check your state laws first because some states only allow laser removal to be done in a doctor's office. I do laser tattoo removals at a shop in VA. The process is exactly the same as if you were to go to a doctor or medSpa, yet they charge you outrageous prices. We charge under $100 per session and a session can consist of up to about a 4x4 area..possibly more...it really depends on the tattoo itself--if it's full color or just an outline etc. Black is the easiest to remove, while blues and greens are the hardest. Some tattoos can be removed in as little as 3 sessions, while some could take around 10. The technician should be able to give you an estimate on how many sessions you might need but everyone is different. Getting it done in a shop is also just as sterile as a doctor's office..at least where I work it is. You will have to wait at least 4 weeks in between sessions to allow for healing and also because the longer you wait, the more ink will come out. Often we will do a couple sessions on a piece just to lighten it so that it can be covered up.
