What are some fall fashion don'ts?

Overly covered clothing, long sleeves with knee high boots, what else? Can you suggest some of the fashion don;ts in the colorful and slightly cold fall weather?

Don't forget your umbrella! (I got caught in the rain a couple of times recently - oops)
Don't try to hang on to summer by continuing to wear flip-flops. Your feet will freeze. And you will slip on wet pavements.
Don't forget to wear layers - The weather is changeable at this time of year so wear a couple of layers such as a long-sleeve jersey top with a cardi or waist-coat over the top. If the temperature warms up again, you can take these off.

The umbrella and layers are a must. I once got caught in the city without one and had to buy a cheap one from the train station. I went to work freezing and looking like a wet dog. Never again!

All I can think of is leggings.  The look hideous on any one with an extra ounce on their frame and they don't even look good on slender people.  Also sweats - too often people end up wearing them out in public.  Not good.  And everything, whatever it is, must be clean.

Don't wear sandals with socks, items with a lot of fringe, shorts (if it is clearly too cold for shorts), uggs with shorts/dresses/skirts, or big feathery jackets or coats.

Visible Panty Lines! Even a slender trim woman should avoid having 4 butt cheeks. Not flattering on anyone.

This happens year round, but I always see an increase in the fall - Pajama bottoms worn outside of the house. With the exception of running for the morning paper in the driveway. I want to scream when I see this happening at the mall, the grocery store, the library, etc. My pre-schooler with special needs can dress herself before she leaves the house, why can't everyone else?

I live in the UK and some people do the same. We no longer seem to value elegance and glamour. In Liverpool recently, there was a fashion for young women to go out wearing old fashioned curlers in their hair - part of a retro 1950's housewife look.
