Blackhead Treatment Options

There are two main types of acne, but the most noticeable kind is probably blackheads. Blackheads are a type of acne where the visible part on the skin is black in color, compared to the normal whiteheads that people experience. The breakout of acne is caused by having bacteria on your face that leads to skin irritation and pimples forming. In order to prevent the breakout of acne, it is important that you keep your skin clean and healthy. Using daily cleansers and moisturizers should keep your skin looking and feeling good. The better the product you use, the less likely you will get a blackhead breakout. Cleaning your face several times a day is also important in keeping acne away or at the very least, contained. Other than cleaning your face, you need to have an adequate blackhead treatment plan in place.

Many over the counter treatments exist for those who suffer from frequent blackheads. Using facial cleansers first thing in the morning and before showering, that will help control your outbreak and make some of the symptoms go away after a few days. There are also a variety of creams that can be used on your blackheads. One of the best ones is Clearasil, which comes in a small tube. You put a dab on your finger and rub into the area that is affected by acne and make sure it is rubbed in fully. Before you go to bed, rub some on the area, but I don’t rub it in. That way it can air dry and the medicine is sitting on the blackheads for a longer period of time. For some people, over the counter medications may not work in treating their acne. If that is the case, you should see your doctor and look into getting a prescription strength ointment or pill to take, which should help you in no time.

Before either beginning an over the counter treatment or a prescription one, it is important for you to do your homework on what works. Look at the various products online and read about their ingredients and any potential side effects. Some products can result in excessive skin drying, sensitivity to sunlight, and you may get an allergic reaction to some of the contents in the medicine. It probably would be beneficial to look at product reviews from people just like you. There is a blackhead treatment out there for everyone, you just need to find the right one that works out for you.
