Flower nail art design decisions are usually made based upon the season or occasion.
For example, choosing the red and green colors of Christmas is a terrific choice for that time of the year, and including the popular poinsettia as the flower of choice works very well.
In that same vein you could decide upon holly or ivy, which would include the traditional Christmas colors as well. For easter you would have the lily.

Spring could employ yellows; summer a variety of hues to represent the plethora of flowers that may be blooming; autumn of course can include oranges and browns which go so well in that time of year; and for winter you could go with silvers and blues.
There are of course a lot of different ways you can go with that, which is also dependent on where you may live.
Now let's look at a few flower nail art designs some ladies have chosen to go with.
Poinsettia Christmas Nail Art
Poinsettias were mentioned earlier as an option for Christmas nail art, so I thought it would be appropriate to start off our look at the flower nail art gallery by displaying a beautiful set of nails with gorgeous poinsettias on them in the traditional Christmas colors.
They're done beautifully, and adding the glitter to the poinsettia nail design was a great way to show the Christmas holiday spirit, which so many people love to include in their Christmas décor and decorations. It's just as compelling and enjoyable on the nails.
Gorgeous Green Flower Nail Art on White Base
The white base of these green flower nail designs was a fantastic choice to highlight the thicker green lines to showcase the beautiful flowers.
Including the foliage every other nail really works well, and adds a sense of beauty to the overall look.
They're stunning nails, and the use of dark and light greens against the white base created an awesome set of nails.
Minx Flower Nail Art
Minx nails are an increasingly popular choice for women. What it is is a "flexible film that shrink-wraps to natural, gel, and acrylic nails using heat."
When applied correctly, the design can last up to 14 days on the fingernails and as long as 6 weeks on the toes.
Basically the procedure is similar to using heat with shrink wrap where it can be shaped around the nail.
Because the designs are made of film, you can have almost any image you want on your nails, as it's very customizable.

The variety of colors are a great way to generate ideas for seasons and themed circumstances. Flower nail designs are usually chosen based upon the type of flower match to the time of year or special occasion, which includes the colors chosen to create the flowers.
Many ladies choose to have a specific flower painted on their nails, but may choose a unique color not usually associated with it in order to match the situation they're in. We'll see that below with some of the tutorials.

Blue Rose Nails
Earlier it was mentioned some ladies like to choose a flower theme for their nails but then interpret it to their own preferences, not taking into account it having to be an exact match to the flower.
That's the case with this set of nails including a blue rose of a color that you wouldn't see on a real rose bush or vine. The rose is easily identifiable, but it's the color of the flower and black foliage which sets it apart nicely.
This is a good idea when a flower like the rose is used, as it's then considered a piece of art that will definitely attract attention and positive comments.
Gorgeous Feminine Flower Nail Design
This last flower nail design in the photo gallery includes a very feminine image, including the use of a soft pink, cream color and green foliage in the mix.
It blends together in a terrific manner, providing a magnificent set of nails for special romantic occasions, or to simply show a fantastic and beautiful set of nails. They are very attractive and desirable.
