      for me I usually choose some cute doll, but my friends told me it is not useful T_T

    Even though I don't smoke, one of my friend brought me a really cool ashtray from Morocco once. It is made out of clay and has a painting of the Moroccan countryside/coast on it.

    I have always thought it was a really cool souvenir.

    Photographs! That way you can remember all the beautiful things that you see and recall the good times you had - sometimes moments almost disappear  in the confusion of travel.

    My sister collects charms that remind her of where she's been.  She has a lobster for Maine, a fir tree for Oregon, a bicycle for our bike ride through Glenwood Springs, CO.  She started collecting charms when she was about 7 or 8. 

    I collect postcards.  I like to mail them back to myself.

    I think anything that is unqiue to the place you have visited is a good souvenir. For example, something that simply has the name of the place tattoed across the front is NOT a good souvenir!
