Strapless Bras for the Buxom Woman- My Discovery!

A couple years ago Victoria’s Secret came out with a line of underwear called “Body by Victoria”. They were marketed as the “No slide” underwear. I read about them online, and decided to go to the store to check them out. As I examined the Body by Victoria panties, which appeared to have no stitching around the edges at all, I noticed a thin rubber- like strip along the inner edges of each panty. I wondered if these Body by Victoria panties were going to live up to their “No slide” promotional slogan, so I decided to give them a try- $30.00 for 3, was reduced to $20.00 with my $10.00 off coupon. I happily left the store with my VS purchase, and was on my way to another adventure of trial and error.

By now you are probably wondering what all of this has to do with strapless bras for well endowed women. Well….I thought to myself then, that if I could wear these panties for a day, and determine whether or not they stay in place, perhaps the same concept may have been, is, or will be applied to a strapless bra to keep it in place.

The day after my VS purchase, I set out to test my hypothesis. To my delight the underwear stayed in place; not to mention they were superior to many that I have worn in the past. My next step was to search for the name of the material that lined the “no slide” panties, and apparently glued itself to my skin while being worn. The name I discovered for the strip was the “No-slide SILICONE STRIP”. I searched for bras with silicone strips, and just as I thought, there were many strapless bras with the silicone- strip lining available at many online and local stores. Some brands call it the “Power strip” and others call it “Bonded elastic”. Regardless of what it was called, my next adventure was to put one of these magic-strip bras to the test. Of course, my burning question was “Will this bra work for women with larger cup sizes?” In other words, “Do these magic- strip bras have the capacity to defy gravity?”

The first purchase I made was the Lilyette Defining Moments strapless bra at Macys. This bra size ran a little bigger than my usual size, so I went a size down. For $24.00 the results were great. The holding power was excellent, but I was not happy with the shape of the bra itself. Some months later I made another purchase at Macys, but this time I purchased a Calvin Klein bra- Seductive Comfort Customized Lift Strapless-I paid $32.00 for it at the time. With a combination of silicone strips and a wider supporting band, I had found my dream strapless bra. To date, I have also tried the Spanx line of strapless bras that use bonded elastic and silicone straps- Also great buys.

Based on my personal research, I have concluded that many strapless bras out there have the magical silicone strips that provide the staying capacity that buxom women seek. However, if you are looking for the best and you are a well endowed woman seeking a strapless bra that meets the following criteria:

  • Staying power
  • Lift
  • Comfort
  • Reasonable price
  • Color choices
  • Strap option
  • Conveniently purchased in local stores

I will go for the Lilyette, Calvin Klein and Spanx brands of strapless bras with these MUST –HAVE features:

  • Silicone power strip
  • Wide Supporting Band
  • Underwire lift

Good luck with your purchase!
