Vitamin plays a major role in keeping you head and hair healthy. There are varieties of different vitamins and minerals required by our hair in order to grow naturally. Deficiencies of these vitamins may cause thinning of hair or even total baldness in severe cases. Healthy hair is the mirror of the person’s overall condition of the body. Therefore, in order to maintain healthy hair, sufficient amount of specific hair vitamins are required daily. A person needs extra hair vitamins if he/she is generally unwell or is undernourished as their hair will show damage too and may even stop growing.

 

There are many vitamins essential for proper growth of hair. Some of the most important hair vitamins and minerals that a person needs to have healthy hair include

The most important hair vitamin is vitamin A. But, in order to prevent toxicity that comes with consuming larger quantities of vitamin A, try to consume vitamin A in its body friendly form i.e. beta carotene. Beta carotene is the best form of vitamin A. Therefore, try to add vitamin A in beta carotene form to your diet as, beta-carotene has no such problems and is converted by the body into vitamin A that can be used to promote healthy hair. The other functions of vitamin A include normal growth of bones, skin, nails and protecting nerve fibers in the form of protective sheath surrounding nerve fibers.

 

Protein is also important for healthy hair as hair itself is a protein. Therefore, is essential for hair growth, keeping hair healthy and repairing of damaged hair. In order to get healthy hair, try to add protein rich sources to your diet menu. Protein deficiency may cause thinning hair and slow hair growth.

 

Over all health is directly proportional to health of the hair. Apart from vitamins and minerals person’s over all health is also a main factor that decides health of the hair. If a person is suffering from lot of stress and a lack of sleep then their hair is also likely to suffer. So, try to make your life stress free by regularly going to yoga and meditation classes. And at last, vitamin and mineral supplements for hair can be the solution to weak and damaged hair.
