US History - The New Nation: 1799 - 1850

After the Original 13 American Colonies broke away from Great Britian and officialy and legally formed the United States of America, other portions of North America under US rule became US Territories and finally achieved statehood. Several states joined the union between 1799 and 1850, before the American Civil War. Meanwhile, America (USA) battled Native Americans, and Europeans over parcels of lands, losing some and winning some. Finally, USA reached fomr coast to coast, Atlantic to Pacific.
