Bixbite or Red Beryl Gemstone

Bixbite is a variety of Beryl Gemstone. It is also known by names Red beryl, Red Emerald and Scarlet Emerald. The other famous gemstones in the Beryl family are Emerald, Aquamarine, Morganite, Heliodor and Goshenite. Bixbite is named after the mineralogist Maynard Bixby who discovered the stone in 1904 in the Thomas Mountains in Utah.
