How I Built My Monolithic Dome Home
This is the story and slide show of the construction of my MONOLITHIC DOME (not Geodesic!), the most energy efficient and structurally sound building on the face of the planet.

My taste in music is as old as the Super Bowl. Really, I am that old. Growing up with Elvis Presley, The Rolling Stones, and The Beatles, and then completing my high...

Lemme ask you a question. Is it New York City or New York? You could say New York CIty or Metropolitan New York, or you could say New York, NY. And all would be correct. I get a lot of questions about hotels...
0 commentsThe Best of Friends
It’s hard to know what to say if you wish to write about your best friend who during my childhood was my father and died when I was only ten. Because I lost him so soon some of my memories are brighter and more definite than they might have been...
2 commentsA Granddaughter's Snowy Owl (poem)
It is a curious thing that children tend to spot things in Nature well before adults. In this case, it was our granddaughter Clare who noticed a snowy owl high above on the top of a pole in the wintry woods of New York State. Thanks to her, we all became aware of this beautiful creature.

7 commentsHiking High in the Catskills
The Catskill Mountains are a great place so close to New York to go for day hikes. Two peaks rise above 4,000 feet and scores of summits rise above 3,500 feet. Springtime is, perhaps, the best season to go hiking in the Catskills with myriad blossoms and green foliage coming out in the valleys. Views from the summit of Slide Mountain above 4,200 feet spread before the hiker that give one a greater appreciation of the famous Hudson River school of painting and of the writings of John Burroughs.
