On January 17, 1989 in Stockton, California twenty-five-year-old Patrick Purdy brought an AK-47 to Cleveland Elementary School and randomly opened fire an innocent group of children playing in the school grounds. He took the life of five children that day, ages six to nine. He also injured 29 others including a teacher. After the incident he killed himself. The first thing that needs to be done is that all assault weapons need to be banned.
