Chief Minister Jayalalithaa and her ruling AIADMK could have been easily embarrassed by a barrage of meaningful issues in the Sankarankoil elections. But the opposition parties chose irrelevant issues like pulling down of Babri Masjid, Muslim reservation policy of Rahul Gandhi, demanding rights to other castes to wear sacred thread which the Brahmins wear and demanding a Rajya Sabha seat for Anbumani. Jayalalithaa should thank the opposition parties and leaders for her big victory.
