Working Class life in England in the 1930's. What life was like for a typical working class family in Birkenhead during the 1930's. A high instance of infant deaths due to poor conditions and and no free health service. Nothing was wasted every thing that could be would be recycled out of necessity. A hard life where families pulled together. Expectations were very different back then and everyone knew their place.
