Herkimer Diamond is a misleading name of the stone which was found in Herkimer area in New York. The Herkimer diamond is double pointed Quartz Crystal that has already been faceted by nature. While it is not actually diamond it is often seen resembling the sparkling clarity of diamonds which may be the reason why they are called so.
