He told dthem to remember God's covenant to teh people.He wanted them to remember 'god's help and His discipline.Moses wanted them to remember the blessings God had given to the people.

The world and all its creatures cannot topple or defeat sin all by themselves! Jesus has to intervene!!! It was the sin of the Egyptians which caused them to experience the 10 terrible plagues from the Lord Jesus Christ. It was their sin which caused them to be drowned in the midst of the Red Sea. It was the sin of the Israelites which caused them to wander in the desert for 40 years. It was David's sin which brought ruin to his entire household. Left on our own, we will all perish from sin!
