Painter, architect, scientist, anatomist, inventor, engineer, mathematician and philosopher, he left to posterity a host of inventions, hundreds of drawings and a few great masterpieces, including the Mona Lisa, in the Louvre in Paris, and the famous Last Supper, in the Convent of Santa Maria dell Grazie, in Milan. He died in Chateau de Cloux, near Amboise, France, May 2, 1519.
