Mystery Log, Part I: Angie Amalfi Series73

Mystery Log, Part I: Angie Amalfi Series

This Hub is a general intro to a non-cozy series by Joanne Pence. The amateur detective is a food critic, Angelina Amalfi, who makes friends with --- and is protected by --- three very nice ex-cons who run a pretend restaurant. There are many great things about this series. I like Angie and her big family. They're all close. I like the writing. But --- sadly --- this book has way too much violence. This series is not a high priority for me.

Murder Mystery - English Style75

Murder Mystery - English Style

Murder. Why are the British so good at it? From Agatha Christie to P. D James, Arthur Conan-Doyle to Colin Dexter, British mystery writers have dominated the world. My Favorite Books and Authors72

My Favorite Books and Authors

In this hub I have included some of my favorite authors and my favorite books. My son and his family gave me a Nook Reader for my birthday last year, so I can now go online and download books instead of buying them. You can do the same thing with the Kindle Readers and others. You will lose the joy of holding the hardback book and getting it signed by the author, but it will cost you less to download instead of purchasing it. Plus, just look at the space you will save! Enjoy!

WRITERS OF THE EMPIRE57

WRITERS OF THE EMPIRE

Empires need writers just as people in office need spin. The best writers reveal something about the people they serve as writers. I examine just how the British and the Americans like to see themselves.
